Discover the answers to these and over 90 other big questions that explore the most important laws, theories, and breakthrough moments in our understanding of physics – from the earliest civilizations to the 21st century. The Physics Book comprises concise information and step-by-step diagrams that untangle knotty theories, memorable quotes, and witty illustrations that play with our understanding of physics. This diverse and inclusive account of physics includes Pythagoras’s observations on music, Galileo’s experiments with spheres, and Isaac Newton’s theories of gravity and the laws of motion, unlocking Albert Einstein’s insights into relativity, how the accidental discovery of cosmic microwave background radiation confirmed the Big Bang theory and the reasons most of the Universe is "missing". This captivating book will broaden your understanding of physics, offering: - A foreword by renowned British scientist Professor Jim Al-Khalil. - Profiles of over 80 ideas and events that shaped our understanding of physics and its significance to everyday life. - Thought-provoking images and flow-charts that demystify the central concepts behind each idea. - Insightful quotes from leading physicists, such as Archimedes, Galileo and Einstein. - A directory section for easy localization. Your Physics Questions, Simply Explained. The Physics Book uses an innovative visual approach to make the subject accessible to everyone, whether you’re an avid student or just curious about maths. Review: A Great Read - This is a great book for people who want to understand physics and learn about the physicists who invented and/or worked on. This book is not going to teach you how to become a physicist. The is no math in this book. But, it is a great book for the general public who want to learn about the subject. The book is written in sections by subjects. Then explains the individuals that were attached to the subject and explains what the subject is about. If you are looking to learn how to be a physicist, you need to look elsewhere for a physics book that also has math. This book is not a stepping stone towards learning how to do physics. This is a book that's a fun read, yet informative. Review: Another terrific DK book - Hubby loves it

High Quality Packaging
Book as described. Actually took the time to wrap it properly. Well above what most sellers provide to preserve books during shipping. Wish others did as much.

The Physics Book
I had heard that this was a good book for learning physics. While it is entertaining, and I have enjoyed reading it, there are no physics problems or solutions. It is more of a history book about who came up with what idea and the significance of those ideas. It give a small biography of the people that came up with the ideas, usually a couple of pages per idea. It is educational, and a good read, but if you are looking for a book to teach you how to solve physics problems this is not the book.

Great gift for teens who love science
I ordered this book for my son's birthday. He was thrilled with it and started reading it immediately. He loves learning about science and is always watching science documentaries and reading interesting books about science. The pages are arranged with illustrations and text that describes the topic in typical DK-style. This book is a great choice for teens who are interested in science.

11 year old loves it
My son is constantly asking me questions about physics. He has a very curious mind and absolutely loved getting this book as a gift. Highly recommend for fellow kiddos who love science, are interested in physics, and are curious.

A fantastic book
This volume illustrates the fact that we do stand on the shoulders of giants: the men and women through the ages who spent their lives trying to understand the relationship of things. There is very little Math involved- some formulae but well presented. While not a book for children I would recommend it for the precocious mind. This book inspired me to break off and read more about the individuals that were covered:Maxwell, Dirac etc

Physics
I had a rubbish physics teacher at school, pity because the subject really interested me. So, many years later I bought this book and it's great. Explains the subject well. I'm learning as lot!
