Smiffys Roman Soldiers Helmet, Gold with Plume, Historical Fancy Dress, Adult Dress Up Hats

As the title says, I had this delivered to my work as I didn't want an extra day of waiting and a trip to the post office depot, so I have been wearing it all day much to the amusement/bemusement of my co-workers. The quality is very good with a comfy lining to the helmet and no scratchy bits. I suspect that this (and the actual party at the weekend) will not be the only time I use this, whereas in the past some cheap fancy dress items I have bought have been purchased then binned after the event.

I got what I was paying for given that I ordered it the day before Halloween, but the helmet did not look as good as it did in the marketing photo. I had to cut out the inner lining to get it to fit, the panels kept sticking out, and the red feather plume was tiny and awkwardly positioned. Would have made for a good chicken costume rather than the centurion I was going for. Not bad for a quick delivery but if you have more time on hand, I’d recommend going for another brand of helmet.

Item as described, reasonable quality, though lost a star due to misleading pictures. It is as described within the written description, a soft material hat, so will arrive flat packed and will need shaping on a head to make it look realistic, however you will never reduce the creases as in the pictures provided. Excellent for school Roman day or fancy dress party.

Worked perfectly for a summer Bible club skit! Came quickly.

I know one shouldn’t expect much given the price, but I think Smiffy somehow managed a very flattering photo of this product.

bit shiny, floppy but it was cheap, so can't really complain. and don't buy it for a child - it really is massive and the inner has a thing that just makes it impossible to sit on a childs head.

I ordered this helmet for my daughter's Athena costume and it was perfect. It came a little wrinkled which was no problem. I just let it sit open for a few days and it was good to go. The gold color with the red plume looks really authentic. Although it said it was a men's hat, it fitted her perfectly. She is 12 years old with an average adult size head. It was a little roomy, but not too large.
