Not as bright as hoped for, but useful
This light doesn't get as bright as I hoped, but it also isn't as dim as I feared it might be. I bought it to clip to the edge of my coffee table or my work table to give me extra light so I can see to read or see what I'm making after dusk. The light will work fine for reading...I still have to try it out as a workspace light though. I got this instead of a regular drafting light because I wanted something easy to move around when needed, and I wanted one that clips on the table edge because it's harder to knock over that way.The clip that holds it to the table is metal with rubber padding on the inside at the front. It's a large clip, 3/4ths the length of my hand, and the spring is very strong. You *can* have the lamp freestanding on the base of the clip as long as you bend the neck to distribute the weight right, but it wouldn't be super stable. A small jostle would probably tip it over.My biggest complaint though is the length of the cord. Very short at 4.5 feet. Not a problem if you are plugging it into a laptop where you're working, but if you want to plug it into an outlet (using the adapter that comes included) most of the time you will probably need an extension cord.Overall, for the price, I think it's decent. It doesn't wow me, but I also don't regret buying it.

Wasn’t pleased
Very cheaply made. Cable tore and broke after only 1 week of using it.. and it sits in one place.. isn’t messed with or moved around. So the fact that it broke shows how poorly it is made. Light isn’t bright at all. Even on the highest settings it’s more of a very dim reading light.

absolutely love this lamp
absolutely love this lamp. the clip is strong enough to clamp onto anything. i love the dimming feature and the different modes of lighting from regular to a soft light. Would definitely recommend this lamp it is perfect in every way.

Used it for sons desk where he does his homework. Like that it has 3 levels of brightness.

Great reading light
I clipped this to daughter's headboard for a reading light. I love that it does not get too hot. It has multiple levels of light. The switch is on the cord and easy for my 6 yr old to use.
