## Description

Rustoleum Specialty Plastic Primer Spray prepares plastic for painting with any top coat. Apply directly to plastic mailboxes, lawn chairs, storage lockers and more. Adheres to hard-to-paint surfaces.

Review: Works great, as long as you follow prep directions. And, it works fantastic on wood! - I had to spray paint 30 feet of 4" PVC pipe. PVC, like many plastics, do not hold paint OR primer very well, UNLESS you put in the simple preparation work. I used 220 grit sandpaper to lightly sand and remove all the gloss from the pipes surface. You do not need to sand hard at all, just hold it to the light and make sure there are no shiny sections, super easy to do! Then, I hosed them off, let them dry, and rubbed the pipe over with tack cloth to get all the dust off. The primer goes on very smooth and covers extremely well, it's difficult to get the primer to run or drip. Again, follow the instructions. After it dried for 6 hours, (my choice), the spray paint went on beautifully! I did three light coats and then did three light coats of a clear coat, it looks great and is chips resistant! I then tried the primer out on wood, I'm always going to use this plastic primer on wood from now it, it works far better than regular wood spray primer.

**Q: Would this work in abs plastic?**
A: ABSolutely!  Always prepare the surface by sanding it lightly and thoroughly, then wash the surface with a degreaser like Simple Green or DAWN dish washing liquid or a citrus-based degreaser, rinse it well and let it dry completely, then paint.

**Q: Did anyone give their project the abrasion test after using the primer?  Did the paint scratch off easily, or does it resist wear?**
A: I didn't give it the abrasion test but it's been pretty great for my projects, I've primed plastic nerf guns, foam board, casting resin, I haven't had any problems at all with it.

**Q: Will this work on the plastic children’s play house or crayola art easel of similar material ?**
A: Yes

**Q: Is this primer clear or colored?**
A: It’s white.

Application worked well. I did not see any of the splotching of the paint, it cam out in a fine mist at a controllable rate. I had no issues with the spray ever getting too thick. There was enough for two coats on a set of four plastic hubcaps. So far, everything is top notch, but the most important thing is the one that cannot be answered yet. It will be a few months before I know if the primer gives the adhesion necessary to be a firm base for the following coats.
