Works quite well
This little hand pump works great for sucking the air out of those sous-vide bags with the little round sticker type valves (for lack of a better description). Manual, so it won't fail like the little rechargeable ones I have had in the past. It IS plastic, so I am sure like any plastic it can break, but so far it "sucks" really well! Inexpensive and easy to store as well.

Works Great
When camping. Some provisions are vacuum packed. Be it in vacuum bags or canning jars. To keep those provisions Fresh as well as to help prevent wildlife smelling them and destroying. This Little Hand Pump worked great. Also, When You Lose Power During A Hurricane. Your able to reseal any product you opened for later use.

IT WORKS!
I bought this to use while camping so I could suck the air out of resealable vacuum bags holding cheese in my cooler. It works great and is easy to use. Since I almost always use resealable bags these days, I won't replace my Foodsaver should it die or I downsize.

good price on this size bag
i discovered sous vide cooking a couple years ago, it’s amazing what you can do with this, i can turn the cheapest pieces of meat into the most tender roast, or a tough roast into a juicy steak. the secret is in the vacuum bags, you seal the meat in a bag, pull a vacuum on it and depending on how warm and how long you cook it is what you get out of it, i’ve even turned a 7 pound pork loin into the softest juiciest pulled pork you’ve ever seen. the bags may be the secret, but they are also the ongoing cost of using this system, and the bag prices are all over the place. this particular set is a good value for the number of bags. these bags are durable, and have kept meat fresh in my deep freezer for over two years. i see a lot of people say these bags (all the bags with the blue zippers and blue seals are basically the same no matter which vendor is selling them) don’t seal well, let’s look at how they work, when you use the vacuum pump on the bag, it tears a little slit opening in the blue seal allowing the air to be vacuumed out of the bag, the blue seal is supposed to be self healing by simply pressing on it afterwards, but that is wishful thinking in my book, know what fixes it and is cheap insurance? a little piece of scotch tape, that’s all you need to keep the bags sealed in the freezer, and it even stays on when you put the bag in the sous vide tank to defrost it, no ice in the bag while frozen, and no water in the bag while reheating. i’ve only had one bag leak and it’s because i dropped it on the floor with frozen soup in it and cracked the corner of the bag

WILL NOT TAKE A VACUUM
bought for filament, tried 3 different bags, with 2 different pumps, couldn't get even the slightest bit of air out, even tried putting a folded up paper towel under the port, nothing. Not happy that I trusted that they would work and didn't actually use them until after the return window closed. Junk.

for larger items
I use reusable vacuum sealer bags regularly. Frozen food really stays for a longer period of time without freezer burn. These larger size ones are good for larger food items. I was happy to find they made this item.

Good pump for sous vide bags
I use this for sous vide bags. The nipple easily encloses the valve. The suction is excellent, allowing the bag to fully conform to the contents. In fact, it will start drawing moisture out of the valve. I get excellent heat transfer since it is very tight. The silicone nipple has an inner diameter of 30 mm, which happens to be a perfect fit for Vacu Vin stoppers. Perhaps it's a standard diameter? If the silicone nipple is removed, the plastic has an inner diameter of 36 mm, though it's harder to mate as it is not flexible.

Cannot give it 5 stars
I have about a 50-50 chance of getting the bags to seal. I use the gripper slide, but when it won’t seal…….It won’t seal. I am very disappointed.
