Saying something doesn't make it true. Poor.
It was all good until it wasn't. Cracked down the middle end to end, wasn't even used that many times or had much pressure on it."All Fit Nation fitness equipment is made to the highest quality standards and our Performance Foam Roller is a prime example of that."If it's a prime example of your equipment, i'll be sure to stay away from the rest."We know how important it is for your new muscle roller to be top notch quality and that's why we invested in an ultra light, super strong, hollow core covered with high density environmentally friendly foam, so that you can deliver a deep targeted massage to those tight muscles of yours with the confidence that your roller can easily take the strain and be used time after time."Top notch quality? No. Super strong? No. Your roller can easily take the strain and be used time after time No, it can't.

I can touch my toes now 😌
So, this isn't what I expected. It says 'foam' roller, but these things are sturdy as hell! 😩Yes, I'm a beginner and not the most exercised of people. As I wiped away the tears pooling in the corners of my eyes, it became almost blissful to rest on the knots that I had located in my hamstrings. It became a cathartic and therapeutic experience, yet led me to making the biggest mistake of (what felt like) my life. More on that later. The booklet you receive is great, it gives you some quick instructions that are easy to follow and get you started right away. But here is my word of warning. Heed my words and go slow. This was my mistake. Do not try to roll every possible muscle in your body! You will be sore the following days and unless you want to bum-shuffle your way down the stairs in front of your colleagues at work. Take your time!If you do take your time, this thing is fantastic and incredibly useful. I've managed to increase my range of motion dramatically since my purchase and I feel no pain when rolling! I don't even feel a need to roll now. No more knots (I think) yay!I highly recommend this product, purchase with confidence!

Designed for looks, not for meaningful use
I can't comment on the sturdiness or durability of this product for the simple reason that I've used it only three times. And, already, I've got a replacement on the way. However, it feels solid enough (despite some reviews to the contrary). So, what's wrong with it? There are two parts to that answer. One is indirect, the other a stunning design flaw. The indirect issue is with the instruction book. After the usage and care instructions, it provides nine ways to use the roller. The first seven of these are copy-paste duplicates of each other with the only difference being in the starts and end points on the roll. The eighth is only mildly different, and the ninth shows how to use it as an unstable bench for simple exercises. The design flaw is in the surface of the roller. As can be seen from the pictures, the roller is striped. There are two panels, opposite each other, that are mostly solid with slight grooves, then larger areas between these that are knobby. The transition from flat area to knobbed area, while rolling, is not smooth. It basically catches on the floor. Additionally, given the length of all the suggested rolls (approximately one circumference of the roller), a single roll switches between flat and knobs several times. If you pause on any knots, you have no control over which surface you end up on without stopping and reorienting the roller (and which surface will you get with the next knot on the same roll?)

Cyclist trying not to cry
Blimey it hurts rolling on your IT bands. Physio said my knee pain is due to tight IT band from thousands of miles of cycling and gave me a series of exercises plus instruction to get one of these rollers. I dutifully watched the instruction video of the person talking and smiling while rolling on their IT band as if it was an enjoyable experience. I roll on my IT bands and its agony. Forget smiling and making relaxed conversation, just focus on trying not to yelp or cry. Seeking sympathy from a fellow roller enthusiast, he said (with a wry smile) its completely normal to hurt a lot and one learns to enjoy it. I guess the saying 'no gain without pain' holds true with foam rollers. Buy one and see if you can smile while using it. Can't wait to use it again tomorrow!UPDATE after 18 months - The foam roller albeit more rock solid than comfy foam, is still going strong. It’s still hurts rolling out on it but perhaps more importantly I do think it helps especially when used along with good leg stretching most days.

I would advise you to buy this item
I came across this after being told my body was completely wrecked by a massage therapist and I was recommended to buy a foam roller and came across this item. Had great reviews and good price so thought why not.I've had roughly 6-7 workouts now and can feel a huge difference. It is really uncomfortable at times but I try my best to keep my breathing correct and good posture at all times really focusing on the core mainly. I think the product is fantastic and it seems I'll be using it for a long time as I'm desperate to get my body back healthy, I'm 27 male 6ft and I clean private homes for a living and it's definitely a graft so to me this product overall is perfect for me. Five stars.Zak
