The iOCHOW shredder was safely delivered yesterday in sturdy packaging.My overall first impression is very positive. The design is unfussy but attractive.Operation is straightforward and surprisingly quiet.The machine is not lightweight, but is easy to move around on good quality casters.The pullout bin is spacious and the cutting blades shred multiple sheets of paper with ease.A good value purchase!

A very quiet shredder that makes light work of any shredding task. With its window into the shredding bin you know when it's ready for emptying. Easy to use and very manoeuvrable on its four casters this is an excellent machine and very competitively price. I recommend it highly.

We changed the shredder in our clinic as it was very loud and noisy. As soon as we changed, we noticed immediately how less noisy this new shredder is. It’s able to shred at least 3 pages of paper in one go as well. Very good value for money and the heat level seems to be under control.

This shredder is excellent. Quiet, efficient, easy to use. Small and compact in size and excellent value for money. Best to buy plastic bags to catch the shredding as it can be messy on emptying otherwise. Highly recommend. Many thanks.

PROs: It’s wonderfully quiet compared to an old strip shredder and it cut an expired credit card very well. I like that it is on rollers as that makes it easy to get it out of the space it is stored in, and the window is useful to see how full it is getting. It is simple to use, and the cross cut is small. Many brands stipulate using expensive special oil or oiled paper sheets for maintenance, but this shredder’s manual suggests using a “non-aerosol vegetable oil applied with a long nozzle evenly over a piece of paper”, (a long plastic pipette with Amazon’s cheap vegetable oil was applied in a cross-hatch pattern – up and down, and side to side). The manual suggests maintaining it this way every time the collection box gets full, which if you have a lot to shred could mount up as an additional cost. The manual says it has a 1 year return and refund, and a 3 year maintenance warranty.CONs: The clips that secured the drawer shut, were very stiff, and in conjunction with the thin plastic of the drawer, meant a fair bit of force was needed to open it, and I think could be a potential for cracking the drawer, so the plastic clips were unscrewed and widened, which eased the opening and closing a little and the need to use such force, - this may have eased over time, and I imagine this is a common scenario to all new drawers secured in this way.

Having had both a Fellows’s shredder and a small home one, both broke. I thought I’d try this iochow, a name I’ve never heard of. The features looked good so I ordered and received it the following day. It arrived well packaged and was set up in minutes. I immediately was able to shred two bin loads, about 500 sheets in 15 minutes. Although I didn’t put more than 7 sheets through at a time, it handled it really well. It was easy to empty into a bin liner as well. The quietness was amazing as my wife didn’t hear it in the next room. I thoroughly recommend this product.

I'm not one who writes many reviews, but for this I really had to. I was pleasantly shocked at how good the machine really is. Initially I was very sceptical; unknown brand, not many external reviews, their website flags up with my internet security suite and the foreign printed characters on the machine made me very reminiscent of certain stereotypes we have of safety, standards and quality for products that originate from certain regions.But after going through all the know brands of shredders on Amazon, Fellowes, Bonsai, Duronic and Amazon own brand that all let me down, I was left with limited options. A recent purchase of another branded shredder product arrived faulty out of the box and this was the only item that was left that was within a certain budget (it's not cheap!) that I hadn't tried.The reviews looked all good, but again was sceptical of fake or paid for reviews on Amazon, but took the plunge anyway.Appearance - The machine has been designed for the UK market, has instructions in English and come with a 3 pin plug fitted as standard. Very aesthetically pleasing with the white colour as it hides the paper dust that black shredders show after a while and blends in well with my office decor (who'd think shredders needs to blend in).Performance - Absolutely fantastic. Truly impressed. It's so much quieter than the roar my old (recent product, but now dead) shredder made and has a hum sound rather than a "I'm grinding stone chips" sounds. The cut size is beyond micro, much smaller than the micro cutters I've had before. I even had to photograph the cutting against a pound coin to show how fine a cut these are.If a simple thing as a shredder has me impressed, who knows what else is around the corner!So far so good, will have to see how it works long term, but initial run and impressions are great!
