K.I.S.S.
The media could not be loaded. Keep It Simple Stupid. That well-known acronym applies to some of the most useful common devices ever invented. The wire paper clip. A pencil. The Zippo Lighter. Lego blocks...These veggie twist devices will never be as famous, but they are simple and they work wonders - when used correctly! My first attempt at using them was on a raw Idaho baking potato. It did not go well. See video. However, the second attempt, on a sweet potato, came out a lot better. In both cases, a knife was required to slice open the tuber to get the spiral out. For the sweet potato, it came out beautifully. For the Idaho potato, not so much. The spiral cannot be pulled out, because the handle is only pressed onto the rod, and comes off easily. Also, the spiral is in a sense, screwed into the veggie. It doesn't un-screw easily.I admit I didn't know what I was doing. On future baking potatoes, I now know better about aiming the rod, how much force to use, how to hold the tuber, etc.One thing that glaringly stands out is that only one (maybe two if you are VERY careful) coils of vegetable can come from each item. The rest can still be used in other ways - salads, stews, soup, goulash, etc. These stainless steel tools are well-made and sharp enough. I was surprised at how easily they cut into the relatively hard sweet potato. I put both potato spirals into an air fryer, and the results were crispy and delicious.Like many hand tools, these twisters require some practice. The best thing is that even the mess-ups can still be eaten and enjoyed.

Vegetable and fruit peeler; some assembly and caution required
So, taking the packaging off the peeler, I noticed that it comes in three pieces with two extensions. The top goes down into the apparatus, which goes in and creates the spirals and punctures the vegetable or fruit. My only concern with this design is it feels loose and this may slipcausing injury. Working with a steady hand this shall work well. I look forward to using it over the next little while with

Twist n shout
Nice little twisty cutty thing. Takes round veggies and makes them squiggly. Wife is happy. I'm happy. Kid is happy. Would recommend. Go ahead and buy 2 if you want.

Works with force.
I am not sure how they did a potato in the advertisement because you would have to push very hard, and the rings dig into your fingers. It works ok, the edges aren't sharp so it kind of squishes it way through a cucumber, I found it wet and slippery. It isn't the most comfortable to use. All in all if I was doing something fun like a dinner party I MIGHT use this, but mostly I don't think it's worth the hassle or discomfort.
