All ages; much laughter.
We have been enjoying this game with much hilarity. Ages 11 through 50 have played together, with the speed of youth an excellent match for the wisdom of (ahem) maturity. I witnessed a group of tweens play this game even though there were computers strewn about with the promise of minecraft. A game is relatively quick, and there is little in terms of a learning curve. I feel that there is a brain workout with discerning the matching, so it is not a boring, mindless type of game, even though it is a relatively simple concept. In short, this one is a winner. I agree with other comments about the flimsy box. And, beware that this version comes with a plastic totem that is similar in feel to a rubber ducky. To get a wooden totem, you have to pay more, and opt for a different version (e.g. British).

Wow, this game is so much fun!
Holy cow... this game is FUN! Super surprised. We first witnessed a group of people playing this in a wine bar, and seeing how much fun they were having, we asked what they were playing... and ordered it. TBH the description doesn't do it justice. THIS IS SO MUCH FUN!Things of note:- The rules take a little getting used to... might learn the rules before second/third drink haha- Trimmed nails are appreciated.- Take note of left/right handed people for elbow bumping- Those with color-deficiencies may have issue with the green-yellow cards- This appears to be more fun with more people...- Competitive people may need boundaries (such as a 1' no fly zone)- Don't allow card flipper to cover the card (in the rules, but still had issues with that lol)Things I was impressed with:- The awesome carrying bag- The cards are sturdy, and because they are square, and "individual" who tends to bend cards (Arg) did *not* bend these... yay!Things that could use some design help:- An alternate way for those that have issues seeing colors have another visual way to know what a color is (border trim maybe)

A perfect party game for a wide audience
This is a tremendously fun game that almost anyone can play. The goal is to get rid of all your cards. Each player starts with a pile of face down cards in front of him or her. Each round, the players take turns flipping their topmost card. If that card matches the face-up card of another player, a contest ensues. Both try to grab the plastic totem in the middle of the table before the other. The winner gives all of this discards to the unfortunate, slower competitor. It sounds simple, and it is, but the cards are fiendishly well designed. You have to pay careful attention to know when your cards match (and, when they don't).If you grab the totem when the cards don't match, you have to take *everyone's* discard piles! *UGH!*I've bought more than a dozen copies of this game to give out to friends and colleagues. Everyone loves it!

I hate this game. (Pssst I love this game)
Whoever came up with the totem snatching element of this game either has an incredibly wicked and evil sense of humor, or a disturbingly tiny amount of basic common sense. And that is why I absolutely hate this game (I actually love this game). The basic premise is that everybody gets a stack of cards with these annoyingly similar patterns/shapes, etc. on one side. They are, of course, different colors, because the point is to not only trick your mind with the annoyingly similar shapes, but to then insult your intelligence completely by making you have to pay attention to color as well. And this is another reason I hate this game. (I adore this game). You flip your cards over to reveal your pattern/symbol, but the rules require that you flip the card in such a way that everyone else can see the card a split second before you do. This gives everyone else's brain a nanosecond head-start on either matching the symbol or the color or following one of the several "special rules" on the "special cards." And that nanosecond head-start that your competitors have is yet another reason why I absolutely detest this game. (The game that I actually thoroughly enjoy).Once someone, or in most cases, throngs of other players, detect the match on two cards, those who have matched then have to grab the totem first. So, if there is a match to your card, the person who matches you knows they match you a nanosecond before you have a chance to notice, and thus they have a head-start in getting their brain to tell their hand to grab the totem before you do. Think wild west gun draw at high noon where the other guy has a much better view of the clocktower. I.hate.this.game. (But it's very fun).Sometimes, you get to sit back and watch other fools suffer while they try to figure out whether there's a match and be the first to grab the totem. But you have no time to enjoy the pain of others, because you must stay alert that the next play could be a match to you. Awful.Oh, and did I mention that you have to play the entire game....card flipping, totem grabbing, etc. with only one hand? Maddening. There are suggested rules for sorting out the inevitable disputes as to who grabbed it first. We instituted others, including adding napkins to the table where your hand has to rest when you aren't flipping cards. We've even resorted to measuring to make sure the totem is placed equidistant from everyone's spot. (Regardless, someone will argue that someone else has a distinct 3 millimeter advantage). And if you hit the totem and knock it over when you realize that you shouldn't grab it because it actually ISN'T a match, we say you've disturbed the jungle gods and therefore have to take on cards. So if your opponent beats you to the totem, you get their discards. Goal of game, get rid of all of your cards. Suggested time for this game is not nearly enough as we are a competitive bunch and games can go on and on and on. I can't stand it. (I can, and I do).In then end, it boils down to this. At age 42 - ish, losing badly to a 9 year old and an 11 year old in a game of wits and reflexes is a reminder that as we age, we lose a step. And I hate the makers of this game for giving my children the opportunity to humiliate me with a stupid, little, yellow, rubber totem by revealing exactly how feeble my mind has already become and how slow my reflexes are today.*sigh* I really love this game.

Fun, fast-paced game!
Jungle Speed is a fun game when played at a fast pace, and may take a while for younger kids to get into the swing of the game. With patience, the game can strengthen recognition skills, reflexes, and sportsmanship. The game contains cards printed with tribal designs in varying colors. The cards are dealt evenly among all players and kept face-down (like in the game "War"). A red plastic "totem" is placed in the middle of the playing area. Players will take turns flipping their top card face-up, and whenever two players' cards match, those two players grab for the totem. The player who succeeds in grabbing the totem then gives all their upturned cards to the other player. The first player to lose all their cards wins!Special cards and variations are explained in the instructions.

Great game!
Great game! So fun to play and engages all levels of players. I wasn't expecting the totem to be a yellow squishy toy (should have looked at the picture better), but it turned out for the best as the game got quite aggressive. Overall, love this game! Great investment for any avid game-player or any family looking to have a fun night.
