1930 Packard Brewster Tan and Coffee Brown 1/18 Diecast Model Car by Signature Models 18103

Bought this for my car geek hubby for our anniversary. He couldn't believe how beautiful it was.

I suppose the first thing to point out is that this one came with a wacky crooked hood ornament. Surprisingly it was the only problem, and minor. I opened the front side of the box and gave it a gentle twist and held it there for a few minutes until the plastic liked being bent that way.Problem solved.It’s obviously been opened and taken out before. Fingernail indentations along the edges of the cardboard closing tabs are evidence of that. Nearly new is the Amazon way.Being a gift for a family member means I’m not about to mess with it much, so I can’t speak on the durability or the quality either. The person who is getting this model did a true concours paintwork restoration on a real 1930 Packard back in the day, we’re talking award winning, and this was the one car out of all the ones he worked on that he regretted returning to the customer.This is the super cheap option of making his dream a partial reality, or maybe it’s an insult. It’s hard to tell!Regardless, compared to the photos of the real car, this matches up really well and at least captures what the 1930 pPackard represents: Beauty and style and greatness. When you see one at a car show it’s a different reaction, instead of saying “cool!” or “wow!” you simply nod honorably at it and whisper to yourself, my God it’s glorious.”, then proceed to absorb all its magnificence with your eyes. Note that this is coming from me, a person with very little interest in in pre WWII vehicles.Anyway, if this is your type of thing, I think you’ll be pleased to know there’s a cheap one not made by the high end hand built model crafters that looks the part for a lot less than those that sell for “Six easy payments of $129.95!”
