Drayton25477 LP111 (Mk4) 1 Channel Timeswitch, White

After living in our bungalow four years we came home to find the heating had not come on :( A quick fault find and we diagnosed a faulty relay in our LP111si. I ordered this item 7pm and it was safely delivered at 3pm the next day. The unit is a direct like for like swap (the Si means our other one had a service interval counter), and importantly it was much cheaper than the big retailers. Fitted in under a minute and we are back up and running.The LP111 is a great and VERY simple timer, both to use and to set up. The Boost function is a big winner for us as well.All in all a superb purchase.

It does the job but not exactly as described. The picture was exactly the same as the switch that we were replacing. The one that we received was slightly different. The original one you could press a button and the heater would switch on for a 1 hour boost. The new one still has the button but once pressed the heating stays on until the end of the next timed unit unless you physically switch it off. This is a bit of a nuisance as the timer is upstairs so it means having to keep going up and down stairs.

This timeswitch replaced an old Switchmaster SM300 that had become very noisy and a bit temperamental. The version that I received was the LP711, as the supplier was keen to move over to this newer, more functional model.After 4 months of use, I can confirm that it is accurate and works very well. The plastic body is rather cheap, but the L.C.D. screen is clear and well laid out. Once I had read the instructions a couple of times, the setup was straightforward and is easy to adjust when required. The Advance and Boost functions come in very handy, particularly if you don't want to change the set times.The timeswitch comes with a universal backplate, but if you are replacing an old clockwork timer then you will not be able to use the same backplate and will have to replace it with the one supplied. Unless you're 100% sure of your electrical skills, I would recommend getting a heating engineer to do the work.If you're changing from a clockwork to a digital timeswitch, I recommend getting a digital thermostat too. I partnered this timeswitch with the Drayton Digistat + 30002 Room Thermostat. The improvement in the warmth of my house was noticeable as the digital thermostat calls for heat at a specific setting, whereas there is always fluctuation with a mechanical thermostat that can cause a house to cool down too much before the central heating fires up again.

Did exactly what I wanted it to do, very happy with product, easy to install what more could you want.

Thought our boiler had fluffed up and after getting an electrician friend out he advised it was just the 20+ year old timer we had that had finally given up! He mentioned that for nearly £100 if we wanted him to fix it he could however, he was totally comfortable letting us buy this and clip in ourselves! Couldn't go wrong!! This did come with a back plate if you didnt have one but our old one clicked right in, bit fiddly to screw in on the bottom (but we have a light switch right below) in general if your timer isn't working get this!! Ours was a 'lifestyle' timer, Drayton is the new name and works perfectly fine for the one we had!
