The rubber part was missing. So now it will scrach the metal surface. Hence don't buy.

We had to put a portable ac vent in out window and needed to find something to keep the window secure because my son is autistic and has climbed our a window before. These work great and are a great price! Super easy to install and keeps the window super securely in place! I'm probably going to get more for our other windows just for added security.

I needed to stabilize one of the sliding glass doors and this works great. That door is not moving a millimeter.

These are very sturdy and will keep your window from being opened, which is what they're for. I like the rubber pad that keeps the window frame from being scratched where they're screwed in. I wish there was rubber on the side so that, if someone does accidentally (or purposely) try to open the window too far, the top of the window wouldn't get scratched.I think these are best used when you plan to leave them in place most of the time but want the option of removing them occasionally. However, I want to open the windows fully during the early evening, then leave them only slightly open overnight. Which means I need to fully remove these every evening then put them back every night. It's not hard, but it's just too inconvenient to do that for eight windows every single day. I ended up getting the Maveek 8 Pack Clear Sliding Door Lock to use instead. Those just fold out of the way when you want to open the window fully, and fold back when you want to limit the height the window can open. But if you plan to only remove them occasionally, these will do the job for you.

Such a simple product and I'm just so glad that I purchased them. I have brand new windows in the rental house I'm living in, but these windows aren't the ones that have the built in window stoppers. Such a miss by the builder really - even when I'm home, I like to open the windows just so far to get a breeze and feel much safer knowing these stoppers would prevent any opportunist to quickly enter my home. I also love that if someone were to try and shimmy the window open at night while sleeping they still couldn't get the window open past a certain point. I plan to buy more of these now that I know they work for my windows. Also, once you have them installed you can't see them which is nice because my windows are white and this seller doesn't have these in white to blend in.

Similar issue with these, as with the double-lock ones. Had to return these also.
