I have been using Rene Furtherer products to ensure my hair remains healthy following years of perms and coloring. The "Complexe 5" concentrate leaves my scalp clean, hair soft and mangeable. It DOES have a strong scent and can leave your scalp tingling. Neither bothers me but should be noted in this recomemndation. There are so MANY hair treatment products on the market and the selection of one over the other is an individual choice. I have found this product (and the KARITE MASK) the MOST EFFECTIVE ON MY HAIR. This brand is pricey, but for me the old adage: why fix something that is not broken - applies to the consistent net positive results I have with Rene Furtherer products over the years.

I was trying to research a new luxury shampoo when I ran across an article suggesting this scalp treatment. I was apprehensive to buy it because it wasn't what I was looking for. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that my scalp has been dry and it has itched. And it's actually been pretty bad for a very long time. I ordered this stuff and really wasn't sure how to use it when it arrived. Right away, I was definitely impressed with the aroma. It smells amazing. I was kind of shaking it over my head and letting it drip. But I finally decided to start pressing the tip right into my scalp all over. I didn't really know when to stop but eventually I figured I'd used enough and starting massaging it in with my fingers. Another review mentions a tingle and the ad above mentions a heating sensation may occur. For me, the sensation was exponentially different. I felt like I'd fallen victim to one of Kevin's boobie traps in Home Alone. It was as if a blow torch had completely lit the top of my head on fire. I went back into the bathroom to make sure my hair was still there. I thought that maybe it had completely burned off. But with raised shoulders and eyebrows and clinched teeth, I waited out the burn. I shampooed my hair and was surprised that later that night my scalp seemed to be a little better already. I waited 4 days before feeling brave enough to give this stuff another try. This time, the burn was nowhere near as intense. But when my hair dried I noticed a lot of light flakes. For hours it bothered me. I finally put some baby oil on my head and went to bed. I woke up the next day, washed my hair, and am just absolutely blown away by how good my scalp feels. I just did another treatment and feel virtually no burn at all. This stuff is truly amazing. I figure that the products I've used in my hair have created pretty uncomfortable scalp issues for about 15 years and this miracle elixir cleared it up in 5 days. I have short hair. I don't know if I've even used 80% of the bottle. This is totally worth the price and I'd pay a lot more for it if I had to for my next bottle.

I used this product 4 years ago and than I cut it because i was just board and my hair already was perfect. First this last forever, it lasts me before more than a year to finish the bottle so its great value. Second, the reason why i am back to it now because this product is my miracle that i webt for when ever i need it. My hair right now falling down a lot and my dandruff is so bad, this product will make your hair Strong, shiny, thick and out of dandruff also will make your hair grow faster. I use it once a week and i use at night and wash it morning, the smell is strong but its not a bad smell. I put it on my scalp only and put coconut oil on my ends and wash it in the morning, believe me its a miracle even my boyfriend noticed and asked me what did you do to your hair because it looks so shiny and strong and when i told him about the product he is like keep doing it 🙈 My favorite product worth the money and more. FYI, i bought with it the shampoo too and it smells awesom and very soft on my hair too. Also my scalp is so itchy and sensitive all the time and i cant use any shampoo or product but Rene Furterer is specially for people who has the same as my scalp.

Expensive but worth every penny. It is a great treatment for the scalp and leaves the hair smelling like the garden of eden for the whole next day after washing. It takes about 30 minutes to apply and massage in and wash out. Because I have a lot of hair, I used about 1/3 of the bottle. At $50 you want to make sure it is well distributed and massaged into the scalp. Don't waste the product by putting it on and washing it out in the shower. Put it on before your workout and then shower and shampoo it out. it is a bit like an hot oil treatment, so it tingles a bit. However, that is the plant extract doing it's job. Enjoy and have great scalp and naturally shiny hair (wash 3 times to remove all product). Enjoy!

I just received this product and have only used it once, but some reviews that helped me decide to purchase addressed specific topics so I wanted to share my experience. If in the coming weeks something new crops up I will amend my review. 1. Scent: I found it to be citrus lavender as advertised, but, to me, there is a bit of a medicinal tinge underneath. It's not bad, but I can still smell it now, hours after showering and having added product to my hair. I am super sensitive to smells, but it's not too overwhelming, though at this point I only smell the medicine smell. Kind of like T-Gel, maybe? Not great, but doable. 2. Tingling/burning: I did experience mild tingling, but nowhere near the burning some reviewers described. I was never uncomfortable and it never hurt. 3. Ease of use: at first I didn't know if it was coming out, but as I went I could smell it and knew it was. The directions say to start at the base of your neck and work your way up in a circular motion, which is awkward. Also, I have wavy hair so it kept snarling and tangling. I decided to just spramp it on and worry about circular motions during the massage portion. Overall: I included photos to show the bottle, because it's quite smaller than I expected. The lines on the back are meant to show amount you should use each time, which is handy. The picture of my arm shows two drops of oil. It is quite light and sheer and disperses quickly. Pic of my hair for reference (color treated, wavy, air dried and unbrushed). I also ordered the thin hair shampoo and conditioner recommended by the company to get a whole system result. After one treatment I obviously don't see a difference in hair thickness, but my scalp noticeably feels cleaner than before. I'll definitely keep it up and do (currently) consider it money well spent.

I absolutely love this scalp oil. I've used many scalp scrubs before, never thought an oil would help alleviate an oily and irritated scalp but this one is incredible. My scalp feels incredibly clean after the wash. It even clears out dandruff and dry scalp flaking. It also softens the hair strand and just makes my hair 10x better. 10 out of 10 is not enough for this one. Totally worth it!

I'm very young and my mom paid for it!! A small amount AND LEAVE IT FOR 2 DAYS then use the yellow creme shampoo once a week and I wash my hair with a small amount of karite..conditioner between the 3 your hair will grow like crazy complex 5 is the key a small amount it's super expensive does the trick it should last 3 months but my dry hair does t need shampoo I can use the conditioner invest in your hair it works just jeep tlyour hair oiled and wash with conditioner it does not weigh down your hair it's amazing 5 inches in 5 months
