AQUA BOUND Manta Ray Hybrid Kayak Paddle - Carbon Shaft/Composite Blade

These paddles made a big difference in paddling our Kayaks. There was more power to our strokes and the carbon fiber is about 1/2 the weight of our old aluminum paddles.

Ordered a couple of paddle from backcountry and the shipper (Ontrac) lost the package almost immediately. Contacted Backcountry once the I noticed the package wasn’t progressing and they immediately issued a credit and I ordered another set and they sent it overnight through FedEx (received two days later. This is a great example of great service.The paddle looks to be great quality and very lite.

Beautiful paddle, just what I expected. Only reason for a 4 is due to packaging. It came in a box 52” x 29”. Major waste of cardboard and space in delivery vehicle. Should have been in 52” x 6” box at the most.

This is a nice lightweight paddle perfect for up to 8 hours of paddling. A negative thing is that the shaft was a bit rough like it needed to be sand or smooth out in some way.

excellent paddle- I'm 6'3" and bought the 150 for my 3' wide kayak. If I could do it over again, I'd order the 140.The blades are big. This is light, but not the lightest- on a scale of light - very light- feather I'd call this very light. It can be used for either low or high angle paddling. Given the price difference between this and the most expensive, I'll buy Aqua-Bound every time (unless I become a professional paddler or win the lottery).

When I purchased my new Kayak I didn't put enough thought into the paddle and bought some cheap Coleman rig that my dealer had on clearance. After one time out I knew something was off and did some research, landing on the 230mm Aqua Bound Manta Ray. The difference is night and day. Much lighter and I had more power, speed, and stamina. Do yourself a favor and buy a nice paddle....like these!

It was all it was advertised to be! Kayak camping with a 56 lbs boat loaded to the bottom of the compartment covers with gear gave the Manta Ray a place to shine. The blade gave the power needed, the carbon fiber shafts was light and solid, and the paddle found its own path thru the water with light hands on the shaft. Five days and 70 miles down river gave me time to fine tune my blade angles. Larry G

This paddle is super lightweight. You can adjust the blade angle to wherever you need it. I'm really happy with my purchase. I do wish that they sent a sticker for my kayak.
