Perfect for the foodie in your life.
Purchased for my brother-in-law as a gift; as he and my S-I-L often plan holidays based around where they can try new food, I thought he might enjoy it. He was delighted!

My camper travel loving relative loved it!
Lovely book with easy to dip in and out layout and beautiful photos. A book bought for some travel inspiration and they were totally thrilled with the useful content.

Interesting tour of the eateries of Europe
Things I liked:+ Presentation is awesome, really great just to flick through a region and see what's on offer.+ Great range of places to eat covered.Things I didn't like:- I wish it had gone into more detail about the culinary culture of the countries visited. As it is, the focus is more on specific restaurants and their menus in a particular region, city or country as opposed to the kinds of food that region might be famous for.Do I recommend it?Yes, if a tour of the different restaurants and eateries of Europe appeals to you (or your recipient if this is a gift), then go for it, you won't be disappointed. If you want to focus on the food and culture of the region as opposed to specific restaurants in that area, this might not be for you.

Lonely Planet Gourmet Trails – Great Inspiration Book for Food Lovers
This Lonely Planet guide provides inspiration for travel experiences focused around gourmet food in Europe. The book is split into countries based in central, northern and southern Europe which is easy to navigate with the clear contents page. I like the clear breakdown into the European countries and the book has a modern, easy to digest layout with beautiful photographs, easy to understand diagrammatic maps and easy to read, clear print. The book is a hardback and measures 19.3cm x 24.77cm with a thickness of 2.54cm so is relatively large and therefore not ideal for travelling with, instead this is the perfect coffee table book. One small niggle is that it doesn’t have a paper cover to protect it so it may become scuffed over time. The book has 264 pages with 40 ideas of where to explore in Europe over a long weekend, this ranges from quite a few locations within the UK, France, Spain and Italy to slightly more obscure locations such as Istria in Croatia and Tallinn in Estonia. It explores the local specialities and also includes practical details such as where to stay, websites and other things to discover in these locations. At the time of writing this book is £16.55 and is a lovely present for an explorer who loves their food or even just as a gift for yourself! As a guide it gives great inspiration particularly around the UK and I would highly recommend it if you are stuck for ideas – a lovely book.

Great culinary guide
I ordered this at the same time as an EV travel guide - this complements that book well. This is well written and makes you keen to travel and sample all of the delicious looking food. Images are great, well presented. Very happy although £16.55 is perhaps a little steep.

Great For Food Lovers
Such a fantastic book this Lonely Planet Gourmet Trails of Europe is. It has made my travels so much more intriguing when it comes to food, as it has so many different unforgettable eateries, fiercely local food and drink specialities and essential 'gourmet trail' information. All of the information gives me a better understanding of what foods & drinks to expect in different places, and opens me up to trying new things across Europe.
