I am an experienced sewer and find these 10" scissors perfect for cutting out pattern pieces, particularly large ones. They are a bit heavy but not too heavy and cut with ease. Very pleased with them and may order another length as well. I definitely recommend them!

I learned to make dresses for myself when I was 7 years old. That was 63 years ago. Needless to say, I have used a lot of different kinds of scissors. These are classic and sturdy. They cut like a dream. The weight is perfect for cutting every kind of materials that I work with. (Never cut paper with fabric shears.... NEVER!) These shears are very well balanced, easy to control, and sharp. Because the blades and handles are one solid piece of steel I won't have the problem that I have had in the past of snapping the handles off while cutting heavy fabrics. I really hate it when that happens, and that happens when using scissors that have used plastic for the handles to make the scissors lighter. Keep the weight and use these forever. I lost my last pair of good shears in a move, and haven't found a replacement till I found these. These blades are the right shape. They are narrow enough, the tips are thin enough and pointy. Pointy is imperative when precision cutting. Precision cuts make sewing easier and the result looks far more professional. If you are a beginner, these shears are a great investment, as the price is not outrageous, and the quality might just inspire you to delve more deeply into the creative joy of sewing. Quality tools bring better results. Get these. Even if you have been sewing all of your life and haven't tried shears like these, get them. You will be pleasantly surprised. I was.
