Refrigerate as soon as you receive it
I recommend tracking this L reuteri probiotic and putting it in the refrigerator as soon as it arrives. It is shipped via regular US postal service so it is placed in your mailbox. I have been careful to do this right away and I have had great success with it. I use it to make Dr. William Davis’ yogurt recipe and it comes out wonderful. The texture and the flavor of the yogurt are amazing which tells me that this probiotic is alive. My mother, who is 84 had a tremendous success correcting her diarrhea when doctors weren’t able to help her with medications. Bravo for Toniiq.

Makes terrific probiotic yogurt
This isn't the same strain that Dr Davis recommends, but I bought it because his recommended strain is back ordered for a month. It does seem terrific though! My wife and I are both loving the yogurt that results from it. And, many of the effects Dr Davis says you'll see, we are indeed seeing. The oxytocin effect is obvious, feel great. We are sleeping better. And, I'm noticing skin improvements. And trips to the porcelain throne are all great.Dr Davis' recommended strain arrived this weekend so I'll soon have that to compare once I finish off the yogurt and make a batch with that.BTW, I solved the separation issue by heating the half and half to 100F prior to mixing in the inulin/bacteria slurry. So far, that has worked for every batch. We don't even need to use some from the previous batch to make a new batch... no separation even with using the contents of the capsule for every batch. And, we've had success making this both with the Ultimate yogurt machine as well as an Instant Pot, both great options.

What is this LR08 Reuteri Strain?
This LR08 Reuteri strain was isolated from inner Mongolian traditional fermented dairy product called milk tofu (this is not the tofu we normally think of). It’s made by Wecare Probiotics in China (search YouTube to see their facilities – they are massive, modern and very impressive). I think the raw probiotic powder is sent to the USA, is then tested and encapsulated here by the seller. I’m typically reluctant to use this type of product from China. However, seeing their facilities and quality certifications, as well as the lab testing results from the seller makes me very comfortable with this particular product.I’ve made a couple of probiotic yogurt batches with the powder and the probiotics are certainly live. I haven’t been eating the yogurt long enough to claim any significant health benefits, but I also drink homemade milk kefir every day so I get plenty of probiotics. Reuteri is one of the few probiotics that populates the small intestine so I’m adding this to my daily intake. There is no doubt that a healthy gut is a good thing. A really good thing. Prebiotics and probiotics help.Research based health claims from certain reuteri strains doesn’t mean other strains don’t have similar benefits. It just means the other strains weren't used in the research. There are research based claims for LR08, however in my opinion all research on reuteri isn’t concrete since they are mostly small studies and every human is different. The studies are promising, but not concrete. Anyway, I’ll do my own study and give it several months to find out how this will work for me.

Reasonably priced
Works great for making homemade probiotic yogurt.Tip: Since the capsules can be tricky to pull apart; I dampen my fingertip to get a better grip and slowly twist apart. Take it slow or you could possibly drop the cap in your slurry or the powder will fly all over. Just thought I’d pass that along because I’ve done both.

Not For Histamine Intolerance (HIT)
I wanted to try this strain of L. reuteri on the chance that it wasn't as much of a histamine producer as other L. reuteri strains are noted to be, given my genetic histamine intolerance (HIT). I got a pretty big histamine reaction, however. I'm extremely careful with diet and medications so as not to consume too much histamine or cause its release from mast cells, so I believe this product was the source. I also believe that, given my very noticeable histamine reaction, these capsules' cultures are live and a good product to try for people who don't have issues with HIT. I had to discontinue after two days of use, so I can't comment on any beneficial results or a longer-term outcome.

Successful probiotic for fermenting milk
This product must be of high quality as one capsule was successfully used to ferment milk (aka: yogurt).Have used it for a month, either consuming the capsules and/or for making "yogurt". No negative reactionsin using this probiotic.

So far incredible results!
Great quality and really feeling its benefits after just one week.Thankfully a co-worker convinced me I should try this and happy I did. I’ve always had poor digestion ever since a kid - constantly sick on antibiotics since 3 years old with pneumonia. This train seems to really ramp up my digestive juices where I feel a comforting/warming sensation in my abdomen. I can eat normally again after years of digestive pain/discomfort. It’s only been a week so I’ll send updates here as things progress.Found this interesting: After researching this strain, it appears to be the master bacteria in our stomach and small intestine to keep in check other harmful microbes by secreting metabolites that kill the harmful ones in our stomach and small intestine keeping a healthy balance.

Made Great Probiotic Yogurt!
I just harvested my first batch of yogurt this morning using this LR08 "strain" of L. reuteri and it turned out great- evenly white, creamy and only a tablespoon of whey was produced. I cultured two-16-ounce batches for 36 hours, sitting side-by-side in the Ultimate Probiotic Yogurt Maker. The batch I made with BioGaia tablets turned out pink, sloppy and tasted weird so I dumped that batch. I used to work in a yogurt factory where we cultured at 103 degrees F so that's where I set the little yogurt machine (of course the factory used different cultures and run time was only 6 hours). I will keep experimenting with BioGaia tablets to see if I can get better results.
