Bestway Pool Aqua Scan Electric Pool Vacuum Cleaner

This cleaner might be okay for smaller sized pools but mediocre for pools 4000 litres and above. It works fine but just not powerful or big enough. If you have a small pool buy it, if you have a big one then save some money and invest in a more efficient equipment.

After researching all the options out there, I opted for this pool vacuum for out Bestway 12ft steel frame pool. Last year (when we didn't have a vacuum) it was a real hassel getting the gunk and bit from the bottom of the pool with a sieve on the end of a bamboo stick. This vacuum makes the job 1000x easier.I noticed in some of the previous reviews that people didn't rate the suction power of this model, but I have not found that to be an issue. If you hold the vacuum in the air (out of the water) and turn it on, sure you don't really feel anything, but once in the water it's a different matter. Raising the vac so that the outlet is slightly above the water level shows the throughput of water from the pool and it's a lot! One thing to note is that (as others have described) there is a "removable" grey plastic flap inside the suction head. I took this out and the suction seemed far better. You don't need any tools to remove the flap and you can easily replace it if you need to.Bugs, bits of grass, leaves, no problem - they all get caught in the filter bag which is incredibly easy to remove and rinse under a tap.Super efficient and easy to use. Would recommend this to anyone with a similar sized pool.

You must move it around very slowly to get any result as if you disturb the water the debris flies out of reach, dispersing into the water (so it looks like it's mostly gone, until it settles over the following minutes).Its suction power was pretty dissappointing, it does especially badly with sand, unfortunately as my pool sits on sand some finds its way in on feet or by wind, and it really doesn't come up easily. You can open up the dirt bag and clean it out and see you are removing something, but it seems to make little difference to the total amount of muck in the pool.Other reviews mention the battery pack getting wet breaking it, I have always kept it upright during use, stored it upright and never left it out to get rained or splashed on, and given that it has kept working.

Not the most powerful of suckers, but just adequate. Clean after every use!Wish I had bought one before - it sucks up most of the hinge which builds up on the bottom of the tub.I suspect I will be able to keep my tub with the same water all season - last year the hunger build up caused me to have to empty twice!

I've been using this product for a couple of weeks, and up to now I can't fault it. i notice one customer complained that the battery compartment got wet. Used properly I can't see how this can happen. Common sense tells you to keep the battery/motor compartment out of the water. You need to be careful when taking it out of the pool to let the water drain away from the batteries. I was surprised at the amount of debris it picks up even though I clean the pool regularly. My advice is read the instructions first. It clearly states not to switch it on unless its in water, and to keep the batteries dry.

This is one of those products a lot of people will get out the box without reading the instructions because its self explanatory. However if this isn’t used correctly, you’ll not get the best out of the product.This does the job. I’ve got a Bestway fast set pool and after a couple of weeks, debris was starting to settle on the bottom.When using the pool vacuum you need to use it very slowly so not to disturb and stir up the debris that’s on the bottom of the pool. A bit of patients and regular clearing out of the filter (net) bag that is inside and you really cannot complain.I wouldn’t recommend this product for a large pool though.

Takes 8 AA batteries. Would have liked it to have more suction, but it does work. I use it in an Intex 12 foot above ground pool. I find going backwards on the dirt cleans better than going forward as going forward disturbs the dirt. Not powerful enough to suck up the berry stones from a laurel tree, but other than spending 100's on a pool vacuum, it's the best alternative & quite therapeutic as opposed to the other hand pump vacuum.
