Cambridge Casual Lutyens Outdoor Garden Bench for Patio Furniture, 4-Foot, Natural Teak

Pros:– Very beautiful wood; heavy, solid and well-constructed.– Color of wood is much deeper and richer than the mfg's product listing photos.– Very impressive-looking in person.Cons:– I originally ordered the weathered grey, but it looked like manufactured resin and not like real wood, so I returned that and ordered the natural teak, which is beautiful.– The mechanical assembly of putting the bench together was dead simple, and took 5 minutes; but it took another 10 minutes to peel off all the stubborn, and completely unnecessary, piece-identification stickers (3rd photo), and then another 30 minutes to put in the small wooden pegs that cover the side screw holes. After trying many times to put them in and realizing they just will not fit, I had to enlarge 4 of the 6 holes with a Dremel with a small sanding drum (3rd photo). I have many years of experience in detailed finish carpentry so I know what I'm doing; 4 of the pegs were simply too large to fit into the holes.Aside from the assembly annoyances, it's a beautiful, excellent bench and I would highly recommend it.

We love teak. We include it in a variety of ways throughout our home. No, we don’t live on a Pacific island. We live in the Research Triangle area, in central North Carolina. When we discovered this Cambridge Casual teak bench, we were gob smacked. We were not familiar with the history of the Lutyens design, but we were drawn to it and enjoyed learning about it. We loved the high curved back, the rolled armrests, the slatted seats, all of which offered comfort without a need for cushions, while letting rainwater escape. And the availability of the 4-foot version made this the perfect statement piece to allow the covered entryway of our newly purchased home be fully welcoming and comfortable. This bench is quality. It was quick and easy to assemble. It’s simply elegant.

Very easy to assemble, well made, sturdy & looks nice

Delivery was timely, good quality teak, fit and finish is excellent. Assembly is much easier with 2 people, but everything fits together properly and the attachment screws and bolts are easy to work with and attach securely. The video on Cambridge Casual (bar code link provided with delivery) is more accurate regarding assembly steps than the written material which has the wrong order for attaching the seat after the arms and will result in having to partially disassemble the sides after screwing them into the back in order to attach the seat. Otherwise, assembly is easy with brass screws and bolts that are easy to insert and tighten with a medium Phillips screwdriver. The bench is better quality than we expected and inexpensive compared to most teak furniture. After buying we saw it at a retail store on the Long Island shore that is known for premium quality; it was a good deal more expensive than here or at other online vendors. We’re very satisfied with the purchase.

This is a beautiful bench and easy to put together. It has some heft to it which is a plus. I would have given it 5 stars if not for some blemishes and marks from less than ideal workmanship. Fortunately, those were in areas that can't be seen after assembly. I bought it to be outdoors throughout the year so I expect it to fade and will require annual maintenance with teak oil. The picture shows what it looked like after applying two coats of oil.

Easy to assemble, very sturdy and great quality.

I am very happy with my purchase. Coming from Hawaii, I had a lot of teak furniture that I could not bring with me when I moved to FL. I am a 69 year old woman who put it together in less than 20 minutes. It took me longer to polish it than to assemble, and now it looks fantastic. Very happy with my purchase. Everything aligned perfectly. Can't wait to put it in my garden.

I love the unique style of this bench. My house is angled in a way that much of what you see when entering the neighborhood is the plain side of my house & garage door. I placed this bench in this space next to my garage and rain barrel and it makes that side of my house look so much better from the road. The bench feels sturdy and I love that it is made of teakwood to withstand the elements it will be exposed to here. I applied a coat of teak oil and it has been sitting outside for about a month in the photos. I read that bugs tend to stay away from teakwood too. I haven’t noticed any spider webs yet which surprises me, but could just be the time of year. I also ordered the teakwood rocking chairs for my front porch to match. The quality is consistent, easy to assemble, and the wood color looks beautiful—especially in person. I definitely recommend this bench and brand.
