Good fun but not perfect
This 4 wheel drive racing car at 1:28 scale is certainly a fast runner. It is delivered carefully boxed and marketed for 14+.The positives are that it feels solidly built. Aesthetically it looks very good. It's also very fast but you can also modify the gears to slow it down and has a phone holder mounted on the remote control. These days who doesn't want to record their stunts? I also love the LED lights which look great at night. It's good fun to play with.On the downside I found charging it a real chore as it is as fiddly as it gets to remove the car exterior body. I am not sure how long the clips will last given that a charge only last you about 25 minutes. Another thing I don't really like is how hot the car gets after use, you cannot pick it up until it cools down.Overall once it's charged it's great fun. I'm glad I ordered but I feel there is some room for improvement.

Used for 20 minutes....motor broken
The media could not be loaded. Update after further testing.1 star review now as broke after 20 minutes of use, see my video. Waste of money, looks like the motor has burnt out already....shoddy!!!!!This is my original review .I want to try a smaller remote control car so ordered this.First off at the price they are asking for this remote control car I do not think it's that good as I have had similar products from the bargain shops like home bargains for half the price that are just about the same.First off the box is quite nice and it's all packaged well, the car comes all assembled and all you have to do to get it to work is charge it up using this special USB charger, press the small button inside the car and then switch on the controller and it all connects together, and away you go.To charge the car you have to take the chassis off and charge up the little battery using the USB charger that plugs into the car. I found taking the chassis off quite fiddly as you have to remove the small split pins that are attached to the body that pops through the chassis. If you have quite big fingers this is going to be quite difficult for you as it is very fiddly. Also the controller does not come with any batteries so you will need to find four good quality AAA batteries, I used to keep ones and it started to run out and lose connectivity very quickly.Once you actually start using the car you will notice a lot of coil whine from the actual motor, there is also not a major amount of control from the controller, even on laminate flooring I found it quite hard to make the car crawl along without it whizzing away quite quickly. The controller does not quite have the finesse of a more proper expensive remote control car and it is very plasticy. The floor plan of the vehicle seems quite sturdy but I think the components look quite cheap, it seems to have been put together quite well though.Once you get it up and running and as long as you have plenty of room and you should be at have limited fun with this car.Overall I stopped using it quite quickly as I found it actually quite annoying to use.I will give it three stars as if you can get it in a position where you can use it properly it is quite fun but once again you don't actually have that much control, it's either on or off and there is that terrible coil whine to contend with.

Great drivetrain and suspension – good for modding
Underneath the flexible Ford Focus-alike bodywork, which is actually well decorated but really just there to stop you wrecking the guts of the car when you crash, there is quite a nice model. The all-independent double-wishbone suspension in particular caught my eye – very nicely done. The baseplate is a tough piece of copper coloured metal that looks great, and there's a festoon of LEDs that make the car light up even in daylight. The remote is pretty big and not as nicely made as the car. It feels a bit clumsy, but I quite like the rubber tyre you steer with. The throttle is highly sensitive, and it's hard to drive the car slowly, When you try, the motor makes a very loud humming sound that probably isn't good. If you have space, and a smooth surface, you don't need to drive slowly though – go at maximum speed and it's great fun, very fast, and very drifty. An indoor sports hall is where you really need to use this but a large kitchen will do the trick if you're careful. The suspension helps it stay on its wheels if there are bumps, and you can attach your phone to the remote to film your antics with a surprisingly elaborate phone mount. The remote needs four AAA batteries which are not supplied. It has trim controls to adjust the steering and throttle's responses. The battery in the car is rechargeable and lasts about 20 minutes at best. My biggest reservation about this model is that you have to take the body off to get to the battery to charge it, and this is very fiddly. You are bound to lose some of the tiny clips that hold it in place. The charger needs USB power.Another problem is that the motor gets really hot in use, and it's hard to do anything with the car until it cools down. To be fair there are warnings about this but I still burned myself because the motor pokes out of the bottom and isn't protected. There are two connectors you have to use inside that are small and hard to unplug. The power switch is, annoyingly, also inside the body. You also get a second set of gears to make the car run slower but you'll need to be bit of a hobbyist to install those. This is not a 'plug'n'play' type of model really – it will suit somebody used to building kits or modding electronics. Included is a catalogue of spare parts.
