A trusted brand.
My Apple TV's Wifi suffered a lot of interference because of the wireless subwoofer and soundbar near it, LG doesnt allow to change it's frequency soo using a ethernet cable was the only choice I had.The market is flooded with highly priced Cat7, 8, braided cable so I confused for a while. I did a bit of research and found out Cat7 isn't even a proper standard for home use and Cat8 is used in only data centers and have different connectors than the traditional RJ45. In a nutshell these all cables flauting Cat7, 8 with RJ45 connectors are probably fake, they're Cat6A at best and 5e at worst.Cat 5e, 6 and 6a is more than enough for household use and even being futureproof. 6 can go 10gbps till 55m and 6a till 100, even some 5e can do this. My plan is of 200mbps which even a 5e covers easily. My 2nd requirement was of bare/stranded copper, most of the budget ones had CCAs. This one had 24AWG copper in the title so I booked it at ₹374, saving nearly 1k as these Cat8 cables of similar size are advertised here. The cable is of nearly 10m, I losely measured twice and it was nearly 32 feet. On the packet its mentioned that it's stranded copper. It seems rigid and doesnt bend easily, well built.Another thing is it's a 6E not 6, 6E is not standardized as well but in theory 6E is supposed to be slightly better than 6. The cable gave showed 1gbps on my laptop from router and gave full speed, lowest ping and jitter on my Apple tv. My interference issue got solved.Do not waste your money on CAT7, 8 cables. Go with 6A if you want but you probably wont even need it.It was good to see a big brand like Philips making sense on setting a reasonable price for a good product.
