Excellent Choice for Small Foyer / Entryway
We bought this because we have the tiniest foyer on the planet and, to make room for a new shoe bench, recently removed a small table where we kept things we grabbed before dashing out the door—sunglasses, keys, dog leashes, mints, mail, etc. We knew we'd miss that table and needed something that could be suspended above the shoe bench. This perfectly fit the bill. It's hard to find items which are only a foot deep that offer any decent storage! Though it was a perfect fit and offers more storage space than the little table we used to employ, it is not a five-star item.I can't knock its appearance; it looks plenty good given it's laminate. Assembly was a breeze and took 15–20 mins, no problems with the hardware or the individual pieces. Carrying it about in its assembled state is tricky; I can see someone easily breaking it apart if they didn't grab/support it in the right places. (If it was made with real wood it wouldn't be as unwieldy.) It's in the hanging/attachment that it loses a star. Does anybody have a corner formed by walls that are perfectly perpendicular?? Well we don't. And in that scenario only the anchor surfaces on one side will sit flush on one wall. The other side is a different story. (I'll upload pictures to illustrate.) I chose the side with three anchor surfaces to be the one to sit flush on the wall, figuring that would provide the most support. By the way, I hung this entirely on my own and I don't recommend it! I managed fine, but only by resorting to a few strange yoga poses. I needed my right knee, hips, elbows—pretty much my entire body to hold it up against the wall while marking the drill holes.Knowing the side with only two anchor surfaces was going to be weird, I only drilled holes for the side with three. Once it was up and flush on that side, I dealt with the weird side: the top surface hovered 5/8" from the wall, the bottom surface 3/8"! (Not noticeable from the viewing direction though.) With that to deal with, no way were the screws they sent long enough. So I traded them out for a couple we had in our stash that were twice as long, and screwed them straight into the wall (no drill holes first). It worked great; that thing is NOT moving. Though I wouldn't sit a small person on any one of these shelves, it will easily support several heavy jar candles and books, small lamps, etc. I wasn't the least bit concerned when I put a heavy bottle of OJ on it, which I did solely to show you the space on the shelves (precisely the height of that bottle). It appears as though it's made with high-quality materials once it's up. I appreciate that they included little cap stickers to cover the anchor screws. If you're careful to follow the "grain", they're undetectable in natural light (see pics—I shot with and without a flash so you can see they're indeed there). Make sure you wash debris and oils off the surfaces with mild detergent and water, and let them dry before putting the cap stickers on or I could see the stickers coming off.Looks great upon entry, love the dark cherry color. It's only been up for three days and a visitor has already asked us where he could get one. I absolutely recommend this unit so long as you're patient when hanging it—and do so with a patient cohort! Otherwise... om shanti shanti.

Great shelf for a Great Price
Pretty great addition to my room. I was able to put it together and hang it up by myself but, like another commenter said, do it piece by piece if you don't want to risk it falling out and breaking a rib. However there is a gap on one, but that's possible my fault or the fact that walls may not be perfectly 90 degrees. (I put up a picture as an example of what the shelf looks like) I have to take a star away because of the EZ stud anchors I used instead of the plastic ones (that's what those white things are) The ones included really don't appear to be that safe, and we just moved to this house so as a college student about to leave home I don't want to come back by Thanksgiving missing a wall. Also, the illustrations included don't really help but it's not that hard to figure out how to do on your own. All in all, this is a great shelf. Like I said, we just moved and I was given a smaller room than my old one so this a great modern way to make space. The design is inovative and, looking at it, there's more than one way to assemble it. It seems pretty sturdy but I hope an early morning and an alarm clock slap doesn't change that. I bought two so I'll be putting up another soon enough.

Great Looking, Easy to Install, and Functional
The unit arrived quickly and well packaged. I purchased this specifically to place a surround speaker behind my wall hugging L shaped sectional with adjustable headrest. The flat lowermost panel hid the wire as it came up from behind the couch, and allowed me to place the speaker on the shelf. The height of the lowest shelf was perfect to allow the headrest to come up while hiding the speaker wire behind the flat panel.I had read many reviews on this and similar shelves and this one had no strange odor, nor was it hard to assemble - HOWEVER - the instruction indicate putting all the sections together and then hanging it on the wall. I understand how that would be difficult to support while hanging and make installation difficult SO First level and attach one flat side to the wall, then attach one shelf to one flat side and HANG IT and attach to previous section - there is plenty of room to drive the screw while mounted to the wall. Continue until complete. Now I want 2 more, but they are sold out.

Nice little number
I just finished putting this sucker up, mind you this is the first time I ever put something in my wall. I was a little hesitant at drilling a hole but everything turned out fine. I actually dont have a power drill so I had to install this all with a hand screw, its the most laborious task I have done so far.Pros:Nicely priced, free shipping to bootEasy installation I am still amazed that I did it without suffering injuryLooks cool, thats why most people get thisCons:Kind of flimsy...I wouldn't load too much weight on thisCan be difficult to put up with out helpInstallation Tips:The panels have a side where the manufacturer made a cutout so when you screw the screws in they will be flush and not stick out. During installation make sure they are facing the right direction. I missed this part, but if I could do it again I would have payed more attention because you get little stickers in which you can then cover the screw and it will look flat and flush. Just for aesthetics nothing critical.Get someone to help you, I had to hoist this thing up with one hand while trying to get a screw in to hold the shelf. As a result the top part is not entirely even to the ceiling. This can be very difficult to try to put up yourself as you can see in my picture I have it all the way to the roof and this shelf sags under its own weight. If I where to do this again I would have someone holding her up while I put the screws in. What I did was hold the shelf up into the spot where I wanted it and I took a sharp ice pick and I poked into the holes where the screws will go, thats how I marked the area on the wall. Its important that these are accurate so you dont screw right into the wall and miss the plastic "Anchor" (See below)Since I dont really know much about construction and stuff I had to figure out what those plastic "anchors" where. The idea is that you screw a hole first, and then hammer the little plastic anchors in and when you screw the screw into the anchor it enlarges inside the wall. So there you go, if you open the box and see little plastic screws now you know what they are!Oh and one more thing, dont stress about the color, I wanted black but they dont have one in stock and red is more expensive. Just get the maple color and get a $8 can of spray lacquer and presto, a 4D Floating shelf in any color you want.Good luck!

Great shelf to maximize corner space!
I absolutely love this corner shelf. It is great looking and useful! We are using it in our babies nursery to hold miscellaneous baby items such as: books, beanie babies, toys and most importantly the baby monitor camera. The main reason we got this shelf was to be able to discretely put the baby monitor camera high enough to give us a good view, while at the same time hiding the wires of the camera so it wouldn't clutter the walls. We were able to loop the wires through the corner and you would never know they are there. This was one of the last items we put in our modern looking nursery and it really pulled everything together.Just be aware that when you are putting the shelf together it may seem really flimsy, but once you put it up on the wall, the shelf is actually sturdy. You could probably put somewhat heavy objects on the shelves, but I personally wouldn't. We put the babies books on the top shelf without any problems, but that's the most I feel comfortable with. One issue I have when it comes to buying any piece of furniture on Amazon, is colors being deceiving and this is no exception. I took a gamble, and ordered the cherry one, knowing that other "cherry" furniture I recently ordered was darker then it seemed in the picture. The furniture in the room is espresso, and this matches pretty well. I would say the cherry color is more espresso with a hint of cherry in it. So the gamble paid off!
