The Lumberjack's Beard

Lovely illustrations
This was a nice book while I felt 14 dollars was steep I purchased it for my child’s birthday. I came across a birthday book by Eric Carle that suited our needs better but I would have kept this book if I loved it, I’m picky so keep that in mind. The illustrations are beautiful and the premise of the story is great. I just found it difficult to read aloud, the flow for me was off but I may be the only one that felt that way. I really wanted to love this book and many people did it appears like.

Lovely book and good message
We borrowed this book from the library and liked it enough to get our own copy - I really liked the message about planting new trees for any that you chop down. Great idea to be passing to children and the story was sweet.

Amazing story, not the best hardcover printing.
I love this story and normally would give it 5 stars. However, the hardcover copy of this particular book copy is nowhere near as nicely printed as the hardcover library binding one I had originally used at my school. Disappointing to get a copy that had duller color pictures! Otherwise, this story is fantastic and can be used to teach so many different first grade concepts.

Great book! Was perfect gift
Beautiful art work and the story was great. Had a simple lesson that I think everyone will be able to see at the end. Would buy for every household in my family.

So "plaid" We bought it!
We love this one! Bought it as a gift for my son's lumberjack birthday. So glad I did. Really cute telling and illustrations wrap up a few good messages. I have a feeling this will be in our top favorites

Colourful and fun reminder to look after our environment
This book is a bright, colourful and fun reminder that trees are also homes. When the lumberjack realises he has ruined the habitats of many animals (and they all move into his beard!) they change their ways.
