No more pinching or losing pieces of ticks!
UPDATE (two years later) I keep this in my bathroom and I still use it for every tick. We are a very outdoorsy family and sometimes we just seem to pick up a tick. Doesn't hurt and comes right off!I absolutely recommend this! We love to be outdoors and hike and sometimes that means we are going to encounter ticks. Picking them off with tweezers works some of the time but this is absolutely painless and incredibly easy! Slide the tick in and twist-literally. The tick lets go and is off within seconds! No more worries about leaving part of the tick. My dog even lets me take them off because it's that easy. I recommend this to my friends and family and will purchase this product again if I ever need it in the future. We have used it for a little over a year and it still works just right. This will not work on the little tiny sea ticks though.

This one really does work, a must have
I actually had to use this on my son who got a tick lodged in his chest. After about 3 twists, it came out whole! Not a piece of the tick was left under his skin. We checked to make sure the head was still in place and it was. It may seem like a useless piece of plastic, but it really does work! Unfortunately ticks are becoming more and more of a problem, so I suggest everyone get this to have on themselves when they go out into the country or the woods.

Tick Twister Tool
During the heavy tick season this spring in N. Illinois I found that the Tick Twister has become an invalueable tool. Being an avid outdoorsman and owning four dogs whom no matter how much flea & tick medicine seem to attract a tick or two on our small farm. Orginally I had purchased tick twisters from a different company which worked ok but were very cumbersome to hold on too due to there smaller sizes. I ordered this version from Amazon of which came within three days. This tick twister is much larger and easier to handle for older folks like my wife and I. The tick twister works great on humans as well. My wife easily removed a couple off the back of my head where I couldn't reach. The important factor is once you have the tool hooked under the body of the tick you simply give it slow twist and tick will come out completely not leaving the head in the flesh. I have shown this tick twister to many of my friends and co-workers whom have already ordered some for themselves. Best tool to own if you live, work or play in tick invested areas. Thankyou Amazon for featuring this item.

Tick Tool Roundup
The last few weeks have been brutal in terms of numbers of ticks. We have two short haired, indoors but spend time outdoors hiking and playing dogs (A Ridgeback and a Blackmouth Cur). Although we spend a lot of time grooming them for ticks to get them before they embed we still get a range from newly embedded, partially full and fully engorged. All smaller ticks, no full sized dog ticks. After looking at all the tick products available on Amazon I decided to order a bunch. The Tick Key, Coghlan's Tick Remover, Ticked Off, Ticklasso, and the Tick Twister.tick Twister and the other tools based on a groove are ok, but it's easy for hair to get in the grooves and cause small non-bloated ticks to twist out and take multiple passed (or give up on and grab the lasso). They are better than nothing but can't compare to the lasso.Of the varieties listed above Ticklasso is simply the best for removing small ticks reliably regardless of engorgement level. It takes a bit longer to get them lassoed than it takes to line up any of the grove (Tick Key, Ticked Off, Tick Twister) style removers, but they come off intact every time and once it's on none slip away. Those may be a bit faster and more effective for fully engorged ticks, but the lasso is SO much better on the not full and small ticks that it's far and away the best for us.

worth $5
not a bad product. The tick is often dislodged safely but the twister doesnt have anything to capture it so the little arachnid manages to grab back on to the pet. I use this and a tweezer to dislodge and remove the ticksUPDATEWe have been using this product every day to remove ticks from our dog (and us). We have a lot of tall grass close by and with the Tick epidemic we are having this year, it has become an invaluable and useful tool. I will never use tweezers again!Ticks remove completely and without fuss or fear of damage within seconds. Works best on large ticks

Yay but ew
Oh man. I hate that I know that this works. Ticks give me the screaming heebie jeebies but I just had to pull 4 off my dog. So:Good: Works! Takes head out. Don't have to touch the damn thing. There's a divot/scoop inside so if it's a big fat one (oh god please no) it still fits, and so that you can hold it at arms length on your way to flush it without the tick falling out.Eh: takes a few tries to get ahold of little thin ones, BUT it seems to be cumulative. So if it's almost out when the twister slips, it'll still be almost out when you grab it again. Also longer hair is a bit of an inconvenience but that's going to happen with any method. If you get too caught in hair, let it go and try again.Edit to add: This also works on people. **shudders** I'm not sure I agree with their description as "painless" -- I'd rate it like pricking a tender zit -- but it could be a lot worse.

It works
I have used these before, they work great. Wish they were cheaper so I could buy more, I imagine these things are marked up 300%. I use revolution on my dogs so hopefully I won't have to use it but Lyme is spreading down the Appalachian and it doesn't hurt to keep one of these on a keychain. Make sure you put it on a keychain or it will disappear lol.

Nothing works better than this for me
Nothing works better than this for me. We were given one as a gift from my friend who is a veterinarian and we lost it and I about lost my mind trying to find it as it's the only thing we could seem to use on our two huskies that would get the whole tick out with zero issues from either the dogs or user error. Found them on here and bought a couple, then found the one at home.
