Pretty but delicate
This ballerina music box is a better alternative to the one I gave my daughter as a child - the jewelry box one that was plastic and the music sounded wonky, you know the ones like that. My daughter is an adult but still loves ballet, so I gave her this. She really loves it! It’s resin material so looks much closer to porcelain. Swan Lake sounds nice, too. As we are sure that many might consider this as a gift for a child, we recommend it be a piece to keep up until the child is older and understands fragility, because it would be incredibly easy to break. I wouldn’t consider it a deterrent, however, because it is delightful, and learning to be careful and respect delicate things are valuable lessons for kids. We did “fluff up” the ballerina as suggested, with a hairdryer, and that worked well. Overall both my daughter and I are happy with this ballerina and would recommend it.

Beautiful to see but not sturdy to use.
The ballerina is truly beautiful. The one negative is that she is not connected well to the base, unwinds herself as she dances and falls off the base. You can screw here back on but truly a design flaw!!
