A perfect beginners drone
I had been looking at some of the $50-$100 drones that have cameras when I came across a youtube channel that reviews drones. The gentleman was reviewing one of the drones I was considering, which he highly recommended but he then mentioned that it wouldn't be a drone he'd recommend for someone who's never flown one before. What he did recommend was the Holy Stone HS210. I ended up buying the HS210F because it was even cheaper than the HS210 and came with a battery that was easier to install. And I have to say that he was right. Drones look easy to fly but they're more complicated than you realize.Things I like:This little guy is sturdy. My girls and I have slammed it into quite a few walls and it just keeps going. A propeller has popped off a couple of times but they're easy to put back on and the kit comes with spares.Easy to use with some fun features. It can take off with the push of a button or you can just throw it into the air. My kids LOVE throwing it and watching it start to fly. The remote has a button to make it do a flip. Again, huge hit with the kids.Things I don't love:Battery life. Lasts about 10 minutes and takes about an hour to charge. And the HS210F only comes with one battery, so you get 10 minutes of fun and then you wait.

Easy to fly, stable flight with 1 safety issue
The flight is very stable with a good low speed for learning to fly. Response is quick. I really like the way it looks flying. It flies with the front higher than the back, looks like it is standing up. Then when it’s going top speed its level. Since there is more than a color difference between the front and back it’s easy to tell which is which. High speed is quick but fine for indoors once you are used to flying the drone. AC running or ceiling fans will affect flight. With drone in high speed, I can adjust throttle to keep level flight going under ceiling fan. As it has very predictable flight characteristics and the controls allow for this level of control. One nice thing (also a con) is the props are pressed on. If crashed the props will pop off. IF you do buy a Holy Stone with this time of prop, I recommend pressing down gently after crashing to make sure you don’t lose a prop. It also comes with a tool to remove easily which is great if you have pet hair. The “driving” mode is unique, but I don’t care for it, seems to be a gimmick more than anything. I was thinking this mode might help my youngest start to learn controls. But it is 1 speed and you had to plan your turns. There aren’t wheels on the bottom so you are dragging on thin plastic, so if you use this mode I would expect the landing gear to be worn down over time unless you are on a perfectly smooth floor. I brought the HS210F for this feature and since it has no valuing to me, I returned it. I’d rather put money towards a drone that doesn’t have this to hopefully get better flying ability. My cons are going to be more impactful for people looking to learn and move on to bigger drones. This has 1 touch take off or throw launch. Both are very “cool.’’ I can’t get the drone to take off just using throttle. As a more advanced pilot this bugs me, and for someone looking to learn this doesn’t give you the chance to learn to take off. The trim is one thing that really irritates me. You must press the left stick down then the thing you want to trim. This should be on a separate button at minimum. Most people when they panic grab or grip things. I have seen kids and adults panic and change the trim. Which does 2 things, while trimming you aren’t really “flying” and after the crash the drone starts to drift. Which for a new pilot could be frustrating.THE SAFETY ISSUE: The Thow launch is based on quick movement of the drone and the props spin. This poses a problem if your child is carrying the drone while on, if they move it to mimic a throw the props start. This happened when my 5-year-old wanted to help and bring the drone to me. Not enough to cause bad injury but does hurt. The only way I could find to emergency shut off was pressing and holding the take off button. This is frustrating. You are touching the sticks you should be able to hold stick down to shut off motors or like many drones use both sticks center-down as emergency shut off. I found that the button didn’t always work.My opinion: I am impressed with Holy Stone, I learned to fly on Syma helicopters and drones. I started with 3ch Helicopters and then 4 channels then 6 channels. Drones I Started with the X5c. I now mainly fly mini Syma indoors and DJI camera drones outside and am learning FPV. The quality they put into these drones is great at the price point, and I will be buying more of their products. My kids 12 and 5 have picked up my interest in RC from ground to air to water. So, seeing this small unit do so well flight wise was awesome. My son has already picked up the HS280. So, I will have to do a review on that one as well.

This drone and Holy Stone customer service are both excellent.
This drone is excellent. Beginners will have no trouble operating it. It is suited well for indoor flight if the room is large enough and uncluttered. It is responsive, has three forwards speeds, hovers well, and has one-button take-off and landing. super cool ... From hovering it can roll [barrel] to the left/right or flip forwards/backwards with simply a button press followed by a quick toggle. If the drone gets too close to a surface it will destabilize; it is also easily shifted by wind. The battery does fit snugly in the drone so make certain that it is properly aligned and snapped into place. Additionally, the drone may aquire a slight or severe drift after some use or impact but is easily remedied by re-setting the gyro or adjusting the trim. The customer service is also excellent. There was an issue with the drone shortly after purchase: it was resolved promptly and painlessly. All around - definitely five stars.

Too much fun! I love this little drone!
Too much fun! I love this little drone. I fly it all over the house without fear of causing damage to it or my home unlike flying my larger GPS drone. With my HS210F drone I can satisfy my need to fly without fear!! This little drone is highly maneuverable and easy to fly being that is designed as a kids toy but it's great for all kids young and old like me. :-)Holystone has a great support team. I had an issue in that I lost two of the same propeller (yes the original and the spare one provided) for which they replaced very quickly and under warranty. That means no additional cost to me.Amazon offers the HS210F at a very affordable price (aka cheap). Every kid, young and old is getting one for Christmas and/or birthday. Can you see it now, half a dozen or more flying around the house and tree Christmas morning. I can't wait!Weighing only a few grams, no FAA registration or remote ID required for this little drone.

Purchased 2 drones and both gave up the same day,
The remotes didn't pair for one drone, and for the other, the battery gave up on the first try after following the instructions to change for 60-90 mins. I am very disappointed and am processing a return.
