Defective on delivery!
We bought this scale to weigh my medication for a condition I have. It has been defective from the first day. As of now the digital readout is showing random numbers. This is a serious matter and no one should buy this horrible and dangerous device. Amazon was of little help other than offering a return code. DO NOT BUY THIS SCALE.

Inconsistent, gives me very little confidence.
As everyone else has noted, this scale has issues with consistency. It doesn't always return to zero when removing the load, and will give different weights for the same load. Don't waste your time!

Too good to be true!
I guess it would probably be a good scale if extreme accuracy wasn't an issue. I didn't need a kind of accurate scale so I sent it back. It would be fine for the kitchen or something like that but if you are tapering medicine just forget about it. It won't stay calibrated and it's empty weight keeps fluctuating.

Absolute garbage, try wasting your money on something else.
They claim a 0.001g accuracy (though really I'd figure it reads out to 0.001, but is likely +/- 0.003g accuracy claimed), but it never weighs anything the same twice, every time you remove something from the scale it gains more and more negative tare, and simply putting your hand anywhere near the weigh plate causes it to deflect hundreds of milligrams heavier, and then a dozen mg lighter than it was before your hand was near. This isn't accurate at ALL, but they claim it's high accuracy? Even certified calibration weights don't weigh what they're supposed to on this thing, and calibrating with them causes the exact same issue described above. As soon as the calibration is done, it immediately shows that the weight is about 160mg lighter than it actually is, and removing the weight causes the scale to have a negative weight of about 20 mg. Replacing the calibration weight then causes the weight to weigh out less than it did the last time, and removing it has an even greater negative weight. I realize I got the 500g version, but they advertise it's accurate, and I have a $15 scale that is way more accurate and only reads out to 0.01 with 0.03 +/- tolerance. Absolute junk. Do yourself a favor and skip this.

Precise but not much more accurate than a 0.01g precision scale
This is a very precise scale, with a precision of 0.001g, while most lab balances are only 0.01g. However, I found the accuracy to be something closer to +/- 0.01g. Most 0.01g precision lab balances have an accuracy of +/- 0.02g, so maybe this is better, but it's hard to say. Repeatability is not great either so trying to find the difference between two weights isn't going to get that 0.001g precision either.A 100g calibration weight is included. The scale also comes with a nice wind shield made of clear plastic pieces that are easy to assemble, and the top is easily removable to put something on the scale. You definitely need the wind shield to try to read 0.001g precision with any accuracy at all, and the hole in the top of the shield lid can still let in some wind from an A/C and make the measurement drift all over. You can easily put a card over the hole if you want to be sure no wind is affecting your measurement. While the scale is well packaged to avoid any potential damage, there is no actual manual included. Only a single sheet of paper with basic calibration, function, and error information is included. I was not able to find any specifications as to the accuracy, which seems important if you really need a 0.001g precision scale. I think I will just stick with the 0.01g precision scales.

Very sensitive balance, poorly documented
This comes with extremely minimal literature (1 page). I’m a little concerned that the only indication of capacity and precision is a little label affixed (poorly) above the display. This is very sensitive to any motion, air movement, etc. It is also sensitive to being anything other than fully level, but it does have its own little fluid level built in on the back edge to help gauge that. You need a very stable location to place this, and it has a very short cord (and an awkward battery compartment). This really is not well-suited to kitchen use, despite what the listing says- it is too fussy, and this level of precision would almost never be even remotely useful. This is for tasks where measuring in milligrams is needed (or pennyweight, or any of the many other measurements you cycle through if you change the units- the manual page lists carat, ounce, pound, and kilogram. There are a lot more.)Basically, this is for tasks that need accuracy down to .01 g or so, for use by those who trust a device with inadequate documentation (with what documentation there is being of questionable accuracy). If it is accurate, it is very well-priced. I’d only recommend it if you have the tools you need to check it for accuracy (like a set of known-accurate weights).

It's a serious scale but lacks any sort of manual.
If they had included a good manual I would have given this 5 stars. There are many ways to use this scale. First, it can use a 9V battery (not included) or a cord. The cord is not very long so it needs to be near the power source it you want to use that. Depending upon the accuracy needed you have the option of putting a wall around the scale plate to block wind/air flow from disturbing the reading. To test this I simply waved my hand in front of the scale with the 100 gram weight on the scale and watched it change. The scale is easy to calibrate and comes with a bubble level in the back. The battery compartment could be a smidge larger for easier installation and closure, it took me a few minutes to have this work properly. I was a science major in school so I understand how these scales work. This is a 200 gram scale and I would have probably been better off with the 500 gram version but this will probably be fine for most things. I do hope they provide a user manual or a link to one that would bring this to a 5 star, highly recommend review. If you have a use for an accurate scale this is a good option! I do recommend with the caveats that you should already know how to use the scale. It's easy enough to figure out how the various pieces go together but a manual would be great!
