Friday & Menace II Society & Set It Off [Blu-ray] [US Import]

I first saw these movies years ago, when I used to listen to a lot of rap music and then I sold them a few years ago, after I got tired of watching them and grew out of the whole hip hop scene. I decided to buy them again on blu ray because it had been a while and it doesn't look like they will be making any new movies of this genre any time soon. All the movies in this collection are worth the watch, but I think the main two attractions are Friday and Menace 2 society, with the other been a bonus. If you are looking for a comedy based in the hood, then you will like Ice cube's Friday, witch is made just that much funnier with Chris tuckers performance as Ice cubes best friend Smokey. If you are looking for a movie about the darker side of living in the hood, then you will like menace 2 society, which is about the types of things that can happen when you live in that environment and how hard it is to escape. The last movie in this collection, Set it off, probably has the better story out of the three, but in my opinion is still the weakest. It is about a group of women, each having their own problems and deciding to rob banks, to make some money, I think to escape their environment and live a better life somewhere else, can't remember exactly . Obviously things do not go as planned, but I am not going to spoil it for someone who has not yet seen this movie or the rest of them. All in all I think that this is a great collection, it is cheaper than buying them separate and it still has all of the special features that you would get if you bought them individually. 10/10 for a triple feature.

Brings me back to my teenage years, I remember watching these round my mates house big group of us... Set it off - fab, bit of a year jerker, Friday - lol! M2S - tense. Great price, Just as good as I remembered.

Classic movies brought to bluray format. These movies aren't for everyone but for those of us who had these movies on VHS tape and watched them every time the boys were over drinking, this is a must have DVD."You know how much you can get for a slip and fall in a store?!?!!"

I'm a fan of all 3 of these movies and own each of them on VHS & DVD. But when I saw all 3 on Blu-Ray for such a low price I had to get them!! I already knew that Blu-Rays video & sound quality are head & shoulders above DVDs but what I didn't expect was the bonus material added to each movie!! I've been watching these movies for 20 years thousands of time & was taking back when I put Friday in & seen scenes I've never seen before, not even on the DVD deleted scenes!! A new opening to a new ending & plenty of more, it was like I was watching a new movie!! Not just Friday but all 3 movies were like this, filled with never before scenes!! I'm buying a copy for my cousins birthday & I'd definitely recommend them to fans of these movies. Not to mention you're getting 3 separate Blu-Rays for less than today's average movie ticket cost.
