Another nice Elago cover, stylish, with a bonus ballpoint pen I didn't need
I bought this on instinct and brand-trust for my new Apple Pencil 2 and iPad Mini 6. Elago has almost never let me down, and I have a gazillion Elago covers (AirPods Pro charging case, Apple TV Siri Remote), stands (M2, M5, P2), Watch charger stands (W3, W4), and even an early Elago multimedia player stand (see my AirPods Pro cover video review). I hadn't noticed that this comes with a Monami ballpoint pen, a unneeded accessory for me -- I have tons of pens. But the cover is excellent, in keeping with Elago's whimsical theme of styling their cases on retro or contemporary objects. The Apple Watch W3 (Mac Classic) and W4 (iMac) stands are examples. The cover protects the pencil entirely EXCEPT the tip so if you drop it tip first, no guarantees. I did notice that the cover seals the seam/gap between the Pencil's removable tip and body. The trick in putting it on is that you may have to set the rear of the Pencil against a soft surface (a silicon potholder or towel will do), and gently, slowly pull the cover on with two fingernails held against the protruding edges of the cover's tip end (not the tip itself). Do not put pressure on the Pencil tip, you could break it with sufficient force. Simply grasping the body of the cover and trying to slide it on the Pencil will only work half of the way. Once the cover is fully on, you can stretch/squeeze the it to even out. Another tip: CLEAN the Pencil prior to this, dry it. A little compressed air shot in the Elago cover wouldn't hurt, too. After putting the end cap on the butt-end of the pencil, you may be able to gently stretch the cover to meet the cap without pulling the cover up beyond the seam of the replaceable Pencil tip. With patience, you can fit both so that there's zero gap (no white of the Pencil exposed, except of course for the tip). The "magnetic" side of the cover, when put on the pencil properly (following the included instructions) is thinner than the rest of the cover, so the Pencil clings to an iPad Mini very well, and charges quickly. Be skeptical of reviews that complain that the pencil won't magnetically attach, the authors probably didn't align the flat side of the Pencil with the side of the cover marked "Magnetic." In using the pencil with this cover, the cover stayed firmly and reliably on the Apple Pencil. Those complaining of it slipping it off either put a 1gen Pencil, or some other stylus, in the cover. The cover is quite secure on the 2gen Apple Pencil. How's it feel? GREAT. In my man's hands, the soft silicone shape stays 'tween my fingers more securely than the Apple Pencil by itself. Though the 2gen Pencil has a flat side (for clinging to a supported iPad), this slightly larger, softer, beveled shape sits nicely in my hand for extended use. (Note there is an option in iOS Settings to use the Pencil for tapping/scrolling as well as drawing.) Cleaning is easily done with a damp rag. If more thorough cleaning is needed (mild soap and tepid water) take the Pencil out and set aside. Getting the cover off is tricky, but very simple. You'll want to start by removing the end cap, then putting the Pencil tip on a soft surface (again, a towel, silicone potholder, or similar), and gently, slowly pushing the cover down with fingernails against the protruding yellow barrel of the cover. Once the Pencil tip is inside the cover, continue by grasping the white butt-end of the Pencil and continuing sliding the cover off with a fingernail against the edge of the yellow barrel. With patience (!) it will come cleanly off without damage to the cover or the Pencil. Now you can gently watch the cover with mild soap and tepid water, pat with a clean towel, then let it air dry. As I said, I don't need another plastic ballpoint pen (even if the ink cartridge is replaceable), so I returned this in favor of Elago's simpler "wood pencil" Pencil cover, which I'll also review. Both are great covers for your Apple Pencil. If you're a Monami fan, or you badly need a Monami plastic ballpoint pen, this cover is for you.

Korea's iconic pen, now for iPad~
I never write reviews but this thing is so stinkin' cute and the reviewers claiming the design is flawed lack common sense. • The flat, magnetic side of the Pencil needs to align with the side of the sleeve that literally says MAGNETIC on it. If you do that, your Pencil will attach and charge just fine. It doesn't need to make direct contact with your iPad so it doesn't matter that the cutout is on the opposite side of the sleeve. • You don't need to specifically double-tap on the flat side. Double-tap works anywhere on the lower portion of the Pencil, so again, having the cutout on the other side of the sleeve doesn't matter. • It is a little difficult to pull the sleeve on, but that's what you want, otherwise it would slide off really easily. • This last point is subjective, but I personally like the added thickness because it gives me better control over my strokes. No other silicone grip I've tried has felt as good in hand. Anyway, look at it right next to my actual Monami 153! Adorable. The whimsy is absolutely worth the money. (I have a 2nd gen btw.)

Nice case, I just wish it was a little shorter for Apple Pencil Pro
I love this case- it gives my pencil a nice grip and the design is pretty cool. My only issue is that I wish I was a little shorter for my Apple Pencil pro, bc it slides a little toward the tip and I just prefer when more of the tip visible.

Very good quality and looks
Perfect fit and perfect quality it looks so nice too I would recommend. It was very easy for me to install and charging works with no problem on my ipad pro, my case doesn’t block the charging part so if you have a thick case I’m not sure how it would work

CUTE BUT CAP GETS LOST EASILY
Super cute and functional. I have no issue charging my Apple Pencil Pro when it’s magnetically connected to my iPad. The biggest problem for me is that the END CAP OF THE CASE COME OFF ALL THE TIME. I’ve had the case for a year and I end up hunting for the cap at least twice a month. Unfortunately, it finally disappeared while in my bag during a vacation and it’s officially gone. The case doesn’t look the same without it and now the end of my Apple Pencil is no longer protected. I’d give five stars otherwise but this is a big flaw since I bought the case to protect my Pencil.

sliding fix for pro users!!
for those who say the pencil case slides off i have your solution! i ended up messing with the cap for a while to see how it could fit better and stay without sliding down and i think i figured it out! just push the cap down and the pencil case up and it’ll make ripples and you can slide the case over the end of the cap to make it fit securely!!

Great outlook - but faulty design
You would think, putting the hole on the same side as the magnetic part to be able to connect the pencil to the ipad would be logical. But no, the faulty design prevents one to charge the ipad, so you would have to take out the casing to charge which is pretty tedious for the most part. I LOVE Elago, it has been great to my previous pencils in the past years. But, It's definetly not worth the $17. I do not recommend buying this to anyone. But luckely for me, I just snipped off the grooves with my scissors and all is well :)

Perfect, Elegant, Sturdy, Charging only if…
Firstly, what you are looking for, “Is it worth to buy?” Yes it is. - Its perfectly fits onto the pencil, with a little effort. - The quality of the material used is not cheap. - Yes, with the cover on, you can still wireless charge it, ONLY IF the magnet side of pencil is properly ’alligned’ with the silicon cover, its not hard, its easy, you can do it or watch any tutorial on YT. - The double tab option is easy to use, I dont know why there were reviews that mentioned it was hard to press, you need to ‘tap’ not ‘press’
