Has taken a 2+ year licking and still keeps on ticking…
I was in the market for a ‘smart G-shock” watch but was very disappointed that one meeting my needs didn’t exist. I saw the Instinct 2X solar and decided to buy my first Garmin device ever. After 2+ years of traveling the world and not babying this watch, I am happy to say this watch is easily my favorite watch ever and has performed amazingly if not perfectly. I wanted a tough watch ✅, solar charging ✅, heartbeat and sleep monitor ✅✅, world time capability ✅, step counter✅; the sports modes and GPS modes were a bonus and I’d never thought I’d use them until quite recently. I can not tell you how many people I’ve impressed with just the flashlight alone. It took me 2+ years to find the GPS tracking useful until I realized I can use it to precisely pinpoint the gravesites of deceased relatives in the cemeteries. I saved each location in the watch and it leads directly back when I go visit to pay my respects. No more playing “I think it’s over here” with my cousins and siblings when we visit our deceased ancestors. This watch has been all over the world with me including the beach and ocean in Neves and the jungles of Costa Rica. It’s scratched up, dinged, been immersed in fresh and salt water and still keeps working. The battery life is awesome, up to 41 days on a full charge in smart watch mode but this is the only criticism I have about this watch. My previous EDC solar G-shock watch was 100% solar, no charging or battery changes needed. The instinct 2X solar claims unlimited power with 3+ hours of direct sunlight but I find I need to charge the watch about once a month for a few hours which isn’t bad (compared to an Apple Watch) but it’s not 100% solar powered.I’m considering the instinct 3 solar but the only potential deal maker for me to give up the instinct 2X solar is if the instinct 3 solar is 100% solar, no external charging needed. All in all, I love this watch! It’s 99% perfect in my opinion. If it was 100% solar, then it would be perfect.

Long lasting battery life, solar charging capability, standalone alarm feature.
70% battery lasts for a solid 25 days. If it is exposed to sunlight long enough during the day, it actually charges itself you will see the battery level increasing instead of decreasing. It has alarm and timer features that can be easily and intuitively set up compared to those cheap G-Shock watches wherein if you don't have the manual, you don't know how to set up the alarms and timers. It has no apparent clock drift even when not connecting to the phone for 15+ days, compared to the cheap G-Shock watches that drift for close to 10 seconds after 15+ days, it syncs the time from the internet periodically through the Garmin Connect app so the time on the watch is never 1 sec off.The GPS coordinates, phone notifications, and the torch features are nice add-ons for a reliable watch like this whose core features are to tell times with long lasting batteries.

Awesome watch for backpacking
I absolutely love my Instinct 2X Solar. This watch lasts 40 days easy as a smartwatch, and longer if you spend any time in the sun.Just for reference, I took this on a 10-day hiking trip to climb mount rainier and do some other exploring in the PNW. I used it to track hours-long activities every day, and when I got home I still had around 10 days of battery life left.I also can't believe how light it is despite being a large watch. It weighs less than my much smaller looking apple watch and does not move around on my wrist. The flashlight is nice, but I don't find myself using it often... maybe if I did more backpacking it would be convenient but I still find I use my phone most of the time.Overall, I highly recommend this watch to anyone who doesn't need the color display and just wants something lightweight with long battery life.

Best gift purchased for my husband
I've been using the Garmin for a few months now, and I'm absolutely loving it! As someone who can’t take any electronics inside work office , he gets to take it inside as it has no WiFi.First of all, the GPS tracking is incredibly accurate. I've compared it to his old Garmin Fenix 6x, and the price was great when I purchased it for him.The watch is also incredibly comfortable to wear. The strap is soft and flexible, and the watch itself is lightweight and slim. He wears it everyday and never experienced any discomfort or chafing. One of the features he was most excited about was the watch's ability to have a light to flash it when he wants too. The watch uses its built-in accelerometer and gyroscope to track his cadence, stride length, and ground contact time. This data has been incredibly valuable in helping him optimize his running form and improve his daily moving and standing performance . It also tracks all his sleep data and gives him an Overall report. Kinda Apple Watch mix with oura ring.Overall, we are thoroughly impressed with this watch and it has exceeded my husband’s expectations in every way. He is always bragging about if in front of everyone. I highly recommend giving it a try.

My second Smart Watch. The battery life won me over.
Super happy with the battery life. And I've smacked it around more than I'd care to with nary a mark. So I'm pleased so far with the durability. My biggest gripe is i often hit the GPS buttons accidentally. Mostly when wearing gloves eith velcro closures at the wrist.

Weather function does noes not function. Great watch otherwise
An extremely good smart watch. I just wish the feature to show you the current weather actually worked. It never has for me, no matter what i do. Great watch otherwise though

Perfect
Does it all. I like it for keeping stats of my workouts at the gym and hikes into the backcountry. I wear it 24 hrs a day. A great way to monitor your health and physical progress.

40 days battery!!
Upgraded myself after having first model for 2 years. Really nice device, bought mostly because of 40 days lifetime battery. Cover all my needs in fitness and run.
