If you want a nice, good fitting case that lets you see this beautiful phone this is the one to get!
The case fits great! the holes near the top (camera, print reader, flash ect) look to be a tiny bit lower than id prefer but they don't appear to have any negative effect. The case, while smooth, is a rubber material and i don't have to worry about my phone sliding around like a block of ice anymore, yet the material allows me to see the phone itself and it looks great! i was worried the texture shown would distract from it but its actually really hard to see in person unless you get really close, so it just gives it a bit of a grayish look from far away.it does pick up some finger prints but not nearly as much as the back of the phone did.the buttons on the side take a bit to get used to tapping with the case on, same with the finger reader, but it's not difficult within a short time i got used to it.

I mostly like the case
I mostly like the case. It fits the Essential PH-1 well and feels good in the hand. It also fits well with the Skinomi screen protector. My main issues are that the back came with a few scuff marks right out of the box and the textured nature of the back detracts a little as the Essential Phone has very nice build quality and materials. It would have been nice if the clear back was a little more clear, but I understand the need for the texturing. It is also very susceptible to finger prints that are hard to clean. It would be nice is it were more oleophobic. Deducting 1 star for the scuff marks out of the box.

It's been awhile, and my phone is still alive...
I'm a bit of a butter-fingers when it comes to keeping a grip on my phone. I knew right away that the amazingly smooth and sleek design of the Essential phone would slide right through my hands. However, I really like the design of the phone and didn't want to sacrifice that. I also really love the size, and didn't want a bulky case. This clear case has worked perfect for me, protecting my phone from quite a few rough tumbles on asphalt, concrete, and tile...phew! The case protrudes just a tad around the phone's screen, so it protects it if you set it face down by keeping it slightly elevated. It hasn't yellowed so far either which is nice. I ended up making a design that fit the case/camera hole and I slipped that into the back to give it a little spunk.Would definitely recommend if you want the protection without sacrificing the phone's beautiful design.

A so-so case for a price a bit too high and a misleading "descriptive" title.
I was looking for a clear case and I've been using this one for a few days now. While its ok, it could be a lot better... would I recommend it? Lets see...First let me talk a little about the bad things:- To start off, the title of this case, can you get any less descriptive and vague?? "Essential PH-1 Case, The Essential Phone Skin, Essential Phone Clear Cases, Essential Cell Phone Accessories, Essential PH1 Phone Protector Protection Cover Protective Bumper by Boonix (Clear)" ... Would have been more appropriate to call it what it is.. Clear Essential PH-1 Phone TPU case .. it's not a bumper which just goes around your phone's edges that has no back and it's definitely not a skin. This case is an average at best TPU case that offers just a little more protection than going totally naked. At one point I dropped my Essential and when I went to pick it up, one of the corners of the case had popped off (phone was undamaged though so that was a plus, but it was on carpet).- The case does make the phone a little less slippery, but adds relatively little to no extra grip and as oil builds up on the outside of the case it too becomes a little slippery.- The button cut outs contain an internal piece so that when you push the buttons they make contact. These are the worst part of the case and most annoying. I had to shave down the power button so that every time I put it in my phone holder in my car my phone wouldn't turn off. The internal piece also causes the phone's buttons not to give feedback when clicked (doesn't make the little click noise / feel when you push the buttons in).- The cost of this case was $8.99, for the quality and construction I would expect to pay more like $5.99 or $6.99.For the good points:- The cut outs for the mics, speakers and camera were all accurate (minus of course the 360 camera port, which is acceptable).- My phone no longer slides off my lap as easy or the side of my desk- It has a lip around the front of the screen, so laying it face down won't scratch it.- It's somewhat protected? Even though it pops off a little too easyThat brings me back to, would I recommend this phone?Unless you absolutely need a clear case, no. The quality to cost ratio isn't balanced, maybe if it were a few dollars cheaper or the quality was a bit better. But at $8.99, there are better cases out there for a few dollars more.

The PERFECT case for the Essential PH-1
I can happily say this case is absolutely PERFECT in every way. The case solves the "slip around" problem that had my phone slipping off my desk and out of my hand. The actuation of the power button and the volume buttons is also perfect, with just the right amount of tactile feedback given. Of course, the case protects the gorgeous ceramic back of the phone as well as the cameras. It helps you quickly find the fingerprint sensor. The case does not add unreasonable bulk to the phone, but affords excellent corner protection. The front lip lifts the face of the phone off of flat surfaces, protecting the screen area. The fit and all other cut-outs are perfect and precise. Be advised that the two contacts for the 360 camera DO NOT have holes provided for them in the case. If you bought the Essential, you MUST protect it with this case!

This unobtrusive clear case complements the Essential phone's minimalist design.
This case provides substantial protection while altering the look and feel of the phone as little as possible. The surface pebbling on the inside of the back isn't really noticeable: from more than a few inches away, the case looks more like lucite than soft plastic. The case doesn't have a texture to make it easier to grip, but is a lot less slippery than this phone is without any case. The cutouts for the volume and power buttons fit perfectly. The opening for the USB-C port is large enough that I haven't had any issues connecting cables, while not being any larger than it needs to be. The cutouts on the back for the camera, fingerprint sensor and rear noise-cancelling mic are very slightly off-center, perhaps by half a millimeter, but not in any way that affects use or function.
