Lovely to look at in detail.
Bought for a friend who particularly loved the combination of watercolour and coloured pen and said it's lovely to dip into repeatedly in more detail to appreciate the individuality of all the quirky little trees. The book creatively shows the impact of humans on nature, and how given half a chance, nature can come back and get things in balance again.

Simple but beautiful
My Year 1 class thoroughly enjoyed this very simple story and it provoked a long heartfelt discussion on the effects of deforestation. The beautiful illustrations really make the book (which actually has very few words) and make it one to treasure.

Not too much text so not too involved for young children.
Very interesting book bought for a Christmas present for grandchildren. I am sure it will bring forth many questions about the environmentin which we live.

Very samey
I bought this after receiving a copy of 'A River', which my 2 year old son adores. However, all the variety and different styles of art and image in 'A River' was the best thing and this book's images are repetitive and barely hold his attention.Condition and delivery time spot on.

A beautiful cautionary tale
A subtle cautionary tale about deforestation. Simple and beautifully illustrated, this is a great book to introduce children to conservation and human impact. Martin's artwork is stunning!

Beautiful illustrations
A short sweet book. You're buying it for the beautiful illustrations and print quality - the story is unlikely to capture toddler attention and may be better for an older child (say, 5 or 6) who is interested in ideas about nature and conservation.
