Glad I Joined the Party!
You know those nights when you really just plan to stay in then someone convinces you to go out and you end up having the best time? Well, that's kind of how I found and fell in love with Healing Faith. When someone first recommended that I start reading this story, I thought "Amish? Really?" (No offense to any Amish reading this review, then again, it's unlikely any Amish would be reading this; unless they're on Rumspringa. Don't know what that is? Read the book!)But I digress. From the very start, you are pulled into the drama of Kate Hill escaping her former life; an abusive boyfriend, a father that doesn't believe her. And not long after that, we are introduced to a kind, affable Amish man, who will eventually become an adoptive father to Kate, and helps her to further her escape by giving her refuge in the Amish community. And while Jennyfer Browne could easily turn this story into a sort of pseudo-documentary, watching Kate and her "English" sensibilities try to fit into the Amish "Way," it actually becomes a love story when Kate literally stumbles her way into Nathan Fisher's arms. Nathan is an innocent Amish young man who has suffered the tragic loss of his family and is struggling to get by on his own. His feelings for Kate are so new to him that at first he avoids her, but then cannot deny the incredible pull his new feelings create. However, this too is not all the story has to offer.Ms. Browne tells this story in such an interesting way, combining the instinctual feelings of teenagers falling in love (and lust), with a very beautiful portrayal of the pure and simple love, hard work and Godly devotion that defines the Amish lifestyle. In addition, Jennyfer Browne doesn't shy away from difficult subjects like sex, religion, drugs and abuse, but rather uses them as tools to weave a very intriguing tale. And yet it doesn't stop there. Without giving away any spoilers, there are many dramatic turns, including one involving the violent ex-boyfriend, a community (especially the Bishop) that is not always welcoming to Kate, and the evolution of Kate herself, finally finding the love and acceptance with her adoptive family that she was denied from her own flesh and blood.I am so looking forward to the next installment of the In Your World series, Renewing Hope, which continues the love story of Kate and Nathan and how they find their way, their future together, while dealing with the prejudices that the Amish have about Kate and "her world." December can't come soon enough!

The healing power of love...
As a full time reviewer there is usually little time left to read novels that are self-published. However, I've found that when I do read one, it's often times the book that pulls at my soul. Pulls at my heart and magically takes me to a world that I long to be a part of if only for awhile. Kate has found herself fleeing from an abusive relationship. An abuse that forces Kate to leave her family, friends, and the life that she knows to go into complete hiding. Little did she know that her jump into a small black buggy would lead her to a simple life of refuge. A simple life of living. A massive life of love that is true. Her devotion to the new Amish way of life comes with a price. It won't be easy and everyone will not be supportive. But it's her new family and a young man named Nathan that begins to mend her broken heart and spirit, while at the same time, she begins to mend Nathan as well.I'm not sure if there is an official Webster definition of fan-fiction, however here is what I have given it: the development and creation of an original storyline and plot using a previous established character or characters for writing inspiration. When I first became aware that there was such a concept of fan-fiction it was many, many years ago. You tend to follow a few good stories and wait patiently for the weekly or bi-weekly updates to arrive that usually always leave the reader wanting more. That's how we stayed hooked! In My World was first presented to readers through the realm of fan-fiction under Holdmeransom. Whom you can still find on twitter and facebook as she has other pieces she has written or are in the works. Self-Published, Healing Faith (In My World #1) is presented to readers under her pen name, Jennyfer Browne. If you have never read fiction with an Amish focus, this should be the one that you pick up and give a try. Jennyfer captures her readers with the very first chapter, even the very first page. You'll grip your e-reader tightly. You'll fall in love with Nathan and Kate and silently wish the story never ends.

Brilliant! Perfect! A MUST READ!!!
Healing Faith (In Your World) by Jennyfer Browne is not your typical Amish Romance. To be honest, while I do occasionally enjoy reading an Amish-based romance, I find them to be syrupy sweet, squeeky clean, impossibly idyllic and often times written on a level easily read by a grade school child. I mean no offense to those authors who write in this fashion as obviously there is a great market for their books and, as I have said, I do read their stories. However, Healing Faith is not one of those titles. This is not a title that would be classified as "Christian Romance".Jennyfer Browne has woven a tapestry that blends the darkness and light, evil and good, despair and hope, passion and chasteness in such perfection that lends to making the reader's journey with the characters richer and more real. It is not simply the fact that Ms. Browne knows exactly how to tell a story, it is also the WAY she tells the story. Her words paint vivid mental pictures and her phrasing leads the reader to pause. To slow down. To simply feel. To experience from the character's viewpoint the emotions that make it so very much more than words on a page.I, unfortunately, do not have the words to adequately describe exactly how incredible I found this book or how much I am looking forward to Book Two. I highly recommend this title and and any other that Jennyfer Browne gifts us with along the way. She is beyond brilliant!

Pleasently surprised
I must admit I read this when it was a fanfiction, it is by far one of my favourites that I have read in the fandom, this is the first time I have purchased a published version of something I have previously read, I am glad that I did, after a few pages I was in the world of Nathan and Kate. I hope I dont have to wait long for the next installment. I love how this is a slow burn of falling in love and finding yourself again, you can't help in love with Nathan as he starts to have hope that was lost when his family died.
