This is the absolute best pearl sugar for Liege waffles! The pearls break down and carmelize beautifully - not a hard crunch, but that unctuous, slightly crispy caramel goodness in each bite. Im not sure if, as in the description, it's the 100% beet sugar, the size, the density, or what, but it just works perfectly. I've tried two other brands, and nothing compares: Lars is too dense, and results in a hard candy crack that is unpleasant, and the other brand became sticky and gummy. Another plus is the great price. If you love Liege waffles, you've got to try Belgian Kitchen pearl sugar - it's the holy grail!

It came packaged so tight in the box that when I ran the box cutter down the box as always, it sliced the bad open. It is a resealable bag so open box carefully! The waffles are GREAT with this sugar if you find the recipe for making the doughy waffles that raise overnight.

I was a little concerned from the other reviews about receiving an open or torn package but I couldn't pass up the price. Arrived perfect, unopened, no tears and now I have enough pearl sugar for more than 2 batches of liege waffles!

I was excited to receive this product, as the price was good for the amount of sugar pearls. Unfortunately, the top of the bag of sugar was not completely sealed, rendering it unusable. I cannot assume it is not contaminated and serve this to my family. Additionally, some of the sugar pearls had spilled out into the shipping container. Sadly, this product is not eligible for return or I would gladly just return it and replace it with the same product in a sealed bag.

I purchased the 4lb bag to split between a friend. I weighed the bag. I was discouraged to find that despite the bag saying it was 64oz, my bag only weighed 63.2 ounces. When I pay for a product, I expect what I paid every ounce of what is pay for.

It's pearl sugar and worked perfectly for my liege waffles. I still need to work through my recipe for waffles but the sugar does what it says on the bag and this is the same price as bags half the size.

It was exactly what we needed to make these amazing waffles that we found at a german christmas mart. My wife made them even better than the ones we got at the mart using this sugar!
