iOPearls NP - Biodegradable pelletised polymers that convert accumulated waste into water, mainly nitrates and phosphates into bacteria. This allows you to keep aquarium water cleaning levels close to those natural sea water. NP BioPearls are made from 100% pure biodegradable polymers, which can be inserted into a fluid filter or mini basket filter. The balls will allow the growth of aerobic bacteria which will therefore consume nitrates and phosphates simultaneously. Bacteria use carbon contained in BioPearls, while nitrogen and phosphorus are taken from water as nitrate and (orto) phosphate. This conversion of organic BioPearls (along with inorganic nitrogen and phosphorus) into microbial biomass is called immobilization. In addition, anaerobic layers will develop further denitrification. To avoid damaging marine animals susceptible to drastic reduction of NO3 and PO4, we recommend adding NP BioPearls as follows: Attention: -Keep water flow through the NP BioPearls sufficient to prevent the production of hydrogen sulphur gases. - The use of NP BioPearls in marine aquariums should be accompanied by the use of a foamer to expel bacteria and nutrients that they assimilate. No need for the filter output containing the pellets to be placed near the socket of the foamer, but you need to have a foamer running in the system. -The use of ozonizer and UV sterilizer will adversely affect the proliferation on the biopellets and thus extend it is not recommended to use BioPearls, UVC and ozonizers at the same time.
