Our wooden train engine was first designed 40 years ago by "Grandpa Don," now our Director of Design and Manufacturing. This reiteration has been done with the die-hard Fighting Irish family in mind. We live and work in South Bend, so our love for the Irish runs deep, which is why we decided to create the Irish Express, featuring Notre Dame colors and a Leprechaun inlay. It's carefully handcrafted out of sturdy Baltic birch veneer with hardwood struts and metal axles, ensuring it will last for many generations. It is built for a child to ride on the roof or the lid, which lifts off to reveal a secret compartment perfect for storing treasures and mementos or a space to create your family's own "time capsule." The engine measures 10.75" x 6.875" x 18.5". All finishes are water-based and kid safe. The name, logo or indicia featured in this product are protected trademarks of the University of Notre Dame.
