Great little book's

The best beginners piano book by far. Key concepts of pitch, rhythm and hand finger coordination are covered before notation starts confusing things. Also, both hands are used from the outset and fingers are placed on different notes from song to song, discouraging playing by numbers. Songs are simple but work well with the accompaniments and the cd helps with practice times. As a teacher I have used this extensively over the past few years and thoroughly recommend it.

I love this book and have recommended the series to all my students. It is really well laid out and doesn't go too quickly. I have a Y1 child who is coming to the end of it (having started at the end of reception so two terms up till now) and an adult beginner who's trying the Performance book 1B (though the Lesson book is the one we meant to get!)

This has become my favourite tutor book for teaching 6-10 year olds. For older beginners, Accelerated Piano Adventures is good.
