Very clear reference book.
A well indexed book with sections by general appearance of a leave. Veery good illustrations which assist in the identification of a leave and the tree.

Useful at home and abroad.
Bought to enlighten me about the trees around me when I go walking in the Peak District National Park and elsewhere. But I also was happy that I'd taken it along as holiday reading to Madeira. More than just a spotter guide to trees, well worth a read.

Great for beginners. Clear and not too much information
For a beginner to tree-spotting like me, I needed something which clearly helps me to identify a tree without getting lost in detail. This is great. And good clear illustrations and descriptions of the main identifying points to look for.

Great for Leaves!
It's a useful little book but not comprehensive enough if you really want to get to identify trees. Not enough information generally. But it IS great on leaves, with excellent pictures, which a lot of more detailed tree books don't have. So it's very useful as a "support book" I'd say.

lots info
The first part is excellent explanation of tree make up. Then moves quickly to more complicated but understandable information
