This product is not able to locate the edge of stud accurately. Instead, it starts beeping approx 3/4"-1" before reaching the edge line. You will have to measure twice by approaching both right and left side and then estimate the center point of a approx 3" bend. It's good enough for occasional usage of a homeowner, but not for professional or advanced DIY guy in my opinion. Light weight, easy to use, and looks good quality. However, I returned and bought a Zircon L50 for $19 from Lowe's, where you can test.

The stud finder is iffy at best. I marked where it picked up the stud and where it lost the stud, deciding to mark the center of each of four places on the same stud. I completely missed the stud!!! Marking the center of the "stud" put me to the right of the stud by about a half an inch. I tested it on this stud over and over before I decided to mark. Luckily my TV mount covers the hole in the sheet rock from the false stud.

I'm not too sure if it works or not because the directions make no sense at all. I'll figure out sooner or later how it really works but it's great for the price I paid lol
