Mounted in a hole in my generator enclosure. Easy to read and accurate. Would have preferred "F" instead of "C", but I know what the maximum temp is and that is all that counts.

Reliable instrument.
The instrument is reliable and accurate enough for home use. I think this one gives more consistent and accurate readings than the cheap digital ones. It looks kind of cool when hung on the wall. It's great that I can monitor the exact temperature and humidity of my bedroom so that I can make sure I'm sleeping in a healthy environment.

Two instruments, both defective.
This instrument is bogus, similar to hygrometers sold in department stores which are for decorative or cosmetic purposes only. They just donโt work. I have two expensive dial hygrometers, one made by Aireguide industries in Chicago and the other by Lufft in Germany (about $100.00 each). I also have a swing psychrometer (wet and dry bulb readings) that I use to calculate the accuracy of my dial hygrometers. When all three of them say 45% and the REED hygrometer says 20%, I know something is wrong. I sent it back and got another one. Just as bad. I talked to tech support at REED and was told the instrument was adjustable with a screwdriver in the back. It is not. Their website says I can get the same instrument with a certificate of accuracy for only $275.00 more. I thought $39 dollars was too good to be true. It is. Save your money.
