There's no instructions but clip the orange tabs off and pull the transparent ribbon with an arrow out sideways until comes off. Drop it in and away it goes. I had zero trouble with this product and no chip problems.

Didnt have to do anything, other than sliding it in place of the old empty original one. It works great and the color is deep black

Worked as expected, however first few pages had some "smudging" as it cleaned off the barrel but perfect after that cleaned itself.
