Excellent kit for student of beginner
This is great for someone starting out in band or wanting to learn at home. Its a decent drum, and comes with everything you need to start practicing. The practice pad especially is a great addition, you can practice quietly on the drum, or with just the pad while sitting on the couch. It is well made, a fantastic value, and built to last. Highly recommend for anyone starting out or wanting to see if they like it

Must Tune with Drum Key, Works Great, Sturdy Stand, Case, & Accessories
Even though this is sold as a kids snare drum for learning, so you don't expect professional quality and performance, once I tuned this drum up, it sounds great! The drum key was lying in the bottom of the box and there were no instructions, but once I got it together it's a very nice drum and sturdy stand. For those who are buying this as a toy or beginning learning device and aren't familiar, there are tension rods around the perimeter of the drum. You use the drum key on these to gradually adjust until you reach the ideal sound - tighten tension rods that are across from each other a half turn clockwise at a time, and do this in pairs around the drum, then repeat until the drum sounds perfect, testing with the drum sticks to hear the improvement each time until you reach the desired level. It comes with all the accessories including sticks, straps, case, and gloves. I experienced no sharp parts when handling it. Look at the photos to invert and insert the two base pieces together. The top part of the stand where the drum sits has a knob you unscrew to loosen and open wider the legs - put the drum there, then screw it back so it tightens snugly around the drum to hold it in place. This can be adjusted with wing nuts to tilt to any angle. And the height of the drum can also be adjusted on the main tripod. It's a really nice sturdy drum once you figure how to put it together properly.

What ever your skill level, this is a good snare
Okay so what if this is suppose to be a beginners set. So what if it's not a name brand that would cost you three times as much. I'm here to tell you that ever since I got this snare that the drummer in our band has been playing it at every practice. He's made numerous comments on how much he likes it. First of all it's a wooden snare and if you're a drummer, you know exactly how different it is from a metal one. The sound says it all. I just wish the thing had a volume knob on it, so we could cut it down. So yes, if this is a beginners kit, I'd say you'd be very happy to learn on a snare of this quality. Now of course with us being a metal band, we really don't have much use for the straps and the gloves. But the stand is solid and the bag is really nice and it even comes with a set of good sticks. In other words everything you need and I mean everything, well with the exception of the talent, you'll have to provide that. Talent comes with practice and with this kit, you've got a great place to start. Thank you.

On My Way to Super Stardom
Admittedly I'm not a drummer or a professional musician. I'm just a guy who wants to learn to play the drums, and this set has everything I need to get started, though I could probably do without the white gloves. Although, the more I think about it, I do feel in the zone banging away at the drums with the white gloves on. If looks could kill, those white gloves would make me a percussion assassin. But, I digress. The set also includes the drum, tuning key, drumsticks (See Pic - at least that's what I think they are, if only someone had labeled them), strap for portable drumming, collapsible stand, and a very nice carrying case. To be honest, I'm a little excited about it. Buy this. It's a good price for everything you need to get started and be on your way to fame and riches.

Great set for beginners
If you're looking for a set for beginners - this is it. It has a great value. The price changed from $99 to $79 with additional coupon available - which I think is more fair now. This set has not the best quality - the drum doesn't have the perfect sound, but honestly if you're looking for a set for a kid or for yourself just to learn how to play then this is exactly what you need as it has the great value. The kit comes with drum sticks and stand (which is again not very durable), shoulder strap, gloves and a drum bag for carrying the set and storage. I recommend getting this set for beginners.

Watch OUT for Sharp Edges (I can NOT recommend it)
This set tries to be too many things and fails to deliver on almost all fronts. Here are the PROS and CONS behind the 1-star rating.PROSIt has all the parts you need to get startedCONSPoor construction and quality at every point. All the metal parts, including the stand, hoops, throw-off, snare wires, lugs, rods, etc. are made out of very lightweight cheap metal. The drum shell has holes in the wood. These should have been at least filled and sanded offLugs do not fit straight into the snare hoops. Tension rods do not fit straight and tuning is extremely difficult.Snare hoops have sharp edges with the chrome peeling off.The case is helpful for carrying the drum but it offers no padding or protection of any kind.Gloves are thin and stitching is very weekThe white strap is thin, not padded, and uncomfortable.Drumsticks are not a matching pair. One is 55 grams while the other one is 47.I am afraid, I can NOT recommend this product. I sincerely hope that you would find this review helpful.

Decent set.
It's an okay set. The drum itself seems too loud and echo-y. The stand isn't very good and keeps tilting constantly.

For kids
This is definitely a drum for kids that are starting out that they may not stick to it. Its a good price. I got it for my son who is starting to get interested in singing and other instruments and I wanted to encourage him to do what he enjoys. It did take a couple minutes to put together and I couldn't find any instructions. I did get my finger in-between and got a blood blister from it so little hands should probably be careful. Overall nice drum and my kid loves using it.
