The Periodic Table in Minerals Collection In 1869, Dmitry Mendeleyev sat down with some scraps of paper and designed a chart that systematically grouped the chemical elements known at the time. This same chart is still growing year by year as new elements are discovered, but its name remains the same: The Periodic Table. This study collection demonstrates a new way to actually experience the elements of the Periodic Table as colorful mineral samples that contain the individual elements! There are 20 samples are presented in a 5 inch by 7.5 inch snap-close plastic display case, and each set includes a detailed information sheet.
