Is there button to press for the continuity, so it won’t trip rcds?

The only button is to turn the torch on. If you go to the Martindale-Electric web site you can download the instruction sheet. BTW I have had one for two years, it has never tripped an RCD, why would it? If it detects voltage, it indicates that; if it detects continuity, it indicates that; otherwise it remains powered off.

Does it come with batteries

Mine has two AAA -- LR03 (Not AA) batteries.

Would this detect ghost voltges?

The VT25 will indicate in the presence of ghost voltages. To correctly detect if an indication is for a ghost voltage, you need a test lamp like the Drummond MTL20.
