Ancol Ergo Universal Slicker Brush Medium

I am a trainee dog groomer and this brush is amazing. It’s great for detangling and fluff drying dogs. Highly recommend!

This is utterly brilliant at removing dog hairs from the carpet. Our lurcher is a shedder. She is short haired and looks tidy but when she shakes you see the hairs come off. The hoover is only so good at collecting hairs and I had lost my old slicker brush so I sent for this Ancol one. What a difference! It really collects so much hair and I now feel the carpets are a lot cleaner. Easy to hold a a quick pull to remove collected hairs. Highly recommended- for carpets!

Does the job for the price

I took ages looking at the various dog brushes online after my dog started to get the odd knot here and there in his fur as it grows longer with age (he has the type of fur you don't cut, it just keeps growing, at least on the body, it somehow stays the same length on his face). I ordered a few brushes, this being the cheapest one. However the it turned out to be the best, and my dog, who doesn't like his fur brushed, found this comfortable and has gotten used to it, and I even wonder if he secretly likes it! It's very gentle and smooth, and the size is perfect for my small dog (who's about the size of a big cat). Turns out the best brush on offer was the one that also happened to be best value for money and the only one made by a trusted brand. I wasn't sure what to expect after reading bad reviews and almost didn't buy this but glad I did! I find the furminators too forceful but I hope regular use of this brush might serve a similar purpose in helping catch some of my dog's fur before it ends up on my carpet too! It does seem to do a good job of picking up fluff despite not dragging through the fur and causing discomfort, it goes through smoothly and gently, but picks up a lot. Very impressed.

Cheap and cheerful but not that great. I have a Furminator and it doesn't go deep enough so hoped this would but it doesn't really. Had a little plastic comb I got free with something that broke but this was the best thing for him so will have to find another.

Although I’ve given 5 stars it does work very well be great for a thick coated dog I find it a little to sharp ? For my spaniel it’s easy to clean easy to hold comfortably and looks the business I find it a little too rough for them maybe it’s me being soft ? But we have another we got in a pet shop that has softer bristles and seems to work better this is a great brush for a longer thicker coated dog

Really good brush for my short fur staffy. She doesn’t flinch when it’s near her and picks up almost all stray fur and flakes, also really helpful in getting grass seeds out. Not sure how well it would do on a dog with a long coat but we’ve had no issues so far
