Useful piece of kit ordered for testing for damp patches on a wall. Says in the blurb that batteries are not included, but when I opened the package there was a 9V battery in situ !Very easy to use - just switch on and touch the four probes to the surface - it provides an instant readout, and by pressing ‘hold’ the reading stays so you can read it more easily. Very useful in exposing a rainwater leak in an old terrace.Shame there isn’t more guidance as to what the percentage figures actually mean, but trial and error shows absolutely dry walls at around 7-8%, borderline at 19-20% and obvious damp patches at 30%+

Used the product as soon as I received it- measures damp in brick walls/ plaster really well. Placed meter in various different parts of the wall and it showed exactly where damp was.

Very limited instructions. Problem is that one does not know what the readings indicate. what level is high and what is low? It starts at 11.0% when turned on and went up to 12.3% when placed on internal wall. So what is considered high or low moisture levels? Tried it on my motorhome and got a reading of 23%. Only problem; the reading on the profession meter at the service centre showed 70% and 50% in the same areas.

This moisture meter did what I hoped it would, giving me a reading which confirmed the extend of the dampness in a local listed building.

One star rating by virtue of the fact that it didn't work. Didn't want to remove the enclosed battery to check its power as a very tight fit and was worried about breaking the casing as this is a very flimsey device.If it worked may have been great but was concerned that it came in unbranded packing looking like something from the bargain basement chain of shops.Device returned
