GE Profile 1.7 cu. ft. Over The Range Microwave in Stainless Steel with Air Fry PVM9179SRSS

This is the nicest GE Profile Over-the-Range Microwave/Convection/Air Fry unit. It's Top Notch in all aspects. We replaced a GE Profile Microwave/Convection oven (JVM1790SK01) that was 17 years old and only just recently started having turn-table problems. No problems in 17 years of daily use. Now that says something for GE appliances. The Seller (Home Supply USA) was fabulous with Lightning Speed delivery (4 Days) at the door. Packaged with care and no issues. All questions/concerns were quickly answered. One note: Be careful about replacing units with alternate brands as the mounting hardware can be different. In our case, I called GE ahead and they recommended the unit that would best match and they were correct. We have a custom install using a 5-inch bumpout. I would not have known about it, but GE took care that we would have the least problems with the install and it was perfect. The unit is HEAVY at about 70+ pounds... Be prepared. This GE unit PVM9179SRSS is very nice and you will be glad for it as we are. Look for Side Space fillers and a Bumpout kit (Part Number JX15bumpbb) for deep cabinets when ordering. Some bumpouts are 3 inches and like the one we have is 5 inches for an 18 inch deep cabinet. Side filler kits are to take up space (if any) on the sides. Vent out straight up with baffle, Vent out back or No vent (Recirculate out the front) comes with the unit. Glass Tray, Metal Tray and Air Fry stand comes with it. Install booklet comes with it. 3-Wire Power Cord comes already installed and ready to plug in.

I am not impressed with microwave combo. At first I was confused on how to actually use it, since it has a dial. Figured it out, but the food plate is extremely hot and food can still be cold. It's a learning curve from my old GE. It is nice and sleek and love the stainless steel.

The microwave and air fryer both work great!

I thought it was going to be difficult to understand cause we replaced our microwave in our rv with this and I was using my oven. Still learning it.

We've had this for about 5 months, and I wanted to wait a significant amount of time before leaving feedback. I've taken off 1 star because you're not really able to customize your time. After you press "cook time", you then turn the knob to set the time. It is preset for 15 second intervals. There's not a numerical keypad to customize the time. If there's a way to undo the preset 15 second intervals, I've yet to figure it out. It's very easy to clean, which is always a big plus for me. We've yet to use the air fryer or convection features. I'm hoping to experiment with them in the coming weeks. If there are issues, I'll update my review. We purchased this to replace a Samsung microwave that was only 3 years and 2 months old. That microwave had (what I thought), a white ceramic interior. 2 months after the warranty expired, while cleaning the interior, I found that it wasn't ceramic lined, but PAINT! After doing some quick research, I found that this interior when compromised, is EXTREMELY CARCINOGENIC!! I picked this particular microwave not only for the brand & high rating, but because the interior was steel. I'll NEVER purchase another Samsung appliance again! I only talked about the Samsung so that I could warn others! Overall, this has been a very good microwave. It has a self cleaning feature which I'll use when the weather cools. Again, if there's any issues I'll update my review. I also purchased this microwave through Amazon instead of Home Depot or Lowe's because the price was over $100 cheaper! After I'd ordered it, I did become a little nervous, because as I read more & more reviews, a lot of people had received their microwave with dents & dings. Our arrived packaged beautifully, there wasn't any space at all in the box! It was wrapped in both styrofoam and styrofoam filled paper. I was actually quite impressed!

Great microwave with all the frills. Installation was a breeze using provided templet. Only complaint is there is no instruction manual. Lots of tutorials online.

Absolutely love my upgrade!!!! So far it works and looks wonderfully!!!
