Urban Legend [Blu-ray] [2008] [Region Free]

I bought this movie to show my kids, as I remembered watching it when I was a teenager. They loved it, especially as we talked about all the urban legends people used to tell.Fun little bit for me was a scene at a party, and the background music was Zoot Suit Riot by the Cherry Poppin Daddies, which is my favourite band, and who I didn't miss a single concert of when they did concerts in my town, from a teenager to an adult.

Urban Legend is a 1998 slasher horror film based on a university campus where a killer uses the methods described in various urban legends as a means to kill the victims. The film is cleverly made, linking together a number of modern urban legends [and hence murders] as various victims fall by the wayside. The common link in all this is Natalie Simon (Alicia Witt) who tries to warn everyone with varying degrees of success.The opening of the film is a bit predictable but the scares do tend to be plentiful and a few are guaranteed to make you jump and if it's gore you want then there is enough of that to keep most fans going. The film generally has something for everyone but its no longer ground breaking and doesn't really offer anything that modern film go'ers wouldn't have already seen, but other than that it's age doesn't really show.This single disc opens to a main menu featuring Language [German 5.1 or English 5.1], subtitles[13 European plus Hebrew] scene selection, Extra features [trailer, behind the scenes & filmographies] and Play.Overall the acting, sound and picture quality are all good. So why ****, simply that the script can sometimes be a bit obvious and a few lines are cringe inducing. But if you want scares and thrills, this should do the trick. Almost a ***** but not quite.

I enjoyed it, classic 90s teenage horror film. A bit like Scream but different killer. I don't know about DVD but picture look good on blu ray, good storyline and well acted by everyone.There's Jared Leto, Joshua Jackson, Tara Reid, Alicia Witt, Rebecca Gayheart, and of course Robert Englund among a few more. Good cast that made good film. It is a film that is typically for Halloween night in for teenagers.I cant believe I got it for only few pound on Blu Ray when the price is about the same for DVD. Of course its region free so that's why its not a lot of money. Get it while its cheap as DVD. It's got High Definition as well as subtitles in many different languages. No problem with delivery.

With Jared Leto having won a best supporting actor Oscar i thought i would review some of his previous movies.Basically this movie is played out on urban legends things like a man hiding in the back of your car etc and the killer kills them using these legends.Its actually rather well acted in parts but not by the lead woman she is rather bad in parts.the blu ray picture is really clear which surprised me as its from 1999!The extras just include a making of and a commentary :)

It was terrible when it came out but my daughter thought it was brilliantly funny and very 90sHard to believe that Jared Leto would go on to be the Joker, so clean cut and young he'd make a better Robin at that age

i love this horror its good classic 1990s film it is very cheap for the price but one problem i have it looks like the cover has been copied as the ratings is on the other page but apart from that a great film and great price and was fast delivery not much more i can say overall classic horror :)

a bit slow and outdated

Great film. When I first saw it years ago, I never guessed who the killer was and when watching it with my daughter recently, she was shocked at who the killer was as well. Seen this film many times over the years, one of the best horrors and still manages to make me jump!
