Savic Zeno 2 Knock Down Animal Cage, Small, 80 x 50 x 70 cm

This cage provided a lovely home for my rats. The bottom tray is lovely and deep — I filled it with a thick layer of bedding that kept the smell to a minimum and only needed changing every two weeks. The shelf has to be wiped down more often unless you manage to fit a fleece to it that you can remove and wash; I never tried. I was able to fit it at a bit of a slant but never enough for all the wee to run off. Take care with the bottom tray — the corners are liable to crack if handled violently. Treat it gently and it will last for ages. If I have one criticism it would be that the sides are a little fiddly to put together — be patient and maybe get a second pair of hands on the job. My favourite feature is that it really does collapse down very quickly and it is then really easy to empty and clean the bottom tray. (The 🐀 🐀 🐀 stayed in a smaller box while the cleaning happened.)

Bought this cage for my two male rats, and it's a perfect size! They are only two months old so this cage is like a mansion at the moment but will be the perfect size when they grow up. I would have to say that it wouldn't comfortably fit more than two adult males or three adult females though, as it's not the biggest cage out there! My boys love it, the bar spacing is perfect and they love clambering around! As far as the quality goes, not bad in general! My front panel was slightly bent but went back into shape easily when setting up. One of the clips for the shelf snapped when i was putting it on, but i might have been too forceful? I don't know, but either way it is now only held up by three clips. The access is really good, but i don't entirely trust the door to be tight enough that they cant force their way through when they're little, so for the meantime i have a bobble tied across it just in case. Apart from small issues (that are probably just specific to my cage) this cage is very good, easy to clean, strong base that they haven't bothered trying to chew through, hammock that comes with it is good quality and easy to wash (just wish that the clips were actually fixed to it as they fall off a lot) and it's a great size. Easy to put up and a steal for the price on the whole!

I currently live in Japan and ordered this cage from the UK since we don't get decent stuff for rats on the Japanese Amazon. Delivery was fast, but imagine my shock when I opened the package and discovered that it is missing the two shorter side panels (ironically marked as "F" in the assembly instruction booklet). I cannot believe this. How do you miss something like this when you are packaging something? The shipping to Japan costs double the price of the cage itself, so returning it would also be quite.. expensive. What is a person supposed to do in a case like this. My rats were getting all excited when I starting unpacking the package as well.... Disappointment all around. EDIT: Amazon sent a replacement free of charge, only this was missing the short side panels, as well as having the plastic base damaged. 5 stars for Amazons handling of this, but 0 stars for the product itself.

Very nice cage, quick delivery and good value for money. If you've never put up a rat cage before then i can understand why people may find it awkward! But with 2 people to assemble it's easy. Once up, its as solid as a rock. First time buying the savic zeno, nice big doorway at the front of the cage.... just a shame the lid doesn't open! But we can't have our cake and eat it. Plenty of room to add extras, and ideal for 2 new baby rat arrivals next week! Ideally this wouldn't be suitable for more than 3 females and 2 males. It is an excellent temporary or intro cage.

The way the grille attaches to the corners is very poorly made - there is no positive ‘click’ like you get with other cages of a similar design. Consequently it will try to self destruct if you take the cage part off the base for any reason. Furthermore the pre-assembled top section arrived with one of the corner pieces broken - the remaining corners were poorly fitting with 1-2mm gaps between sections that looked unsightly. The only positive was the door which has a nice matching mechanism and the accessories looked decent. Sent back for a refund and bought the Ferplast cage instead which has a more secure cage construction (but a worse door arrangement).

Good size. Strong. Small bar spaces ideal for baby rats. Very pleased with price. I paid £59.99. Only down side is sometimes side bars slide out when removing bottom tray for cleaning. You have to rebuild a little on each clean. However not too much of a problem. Good product😀

This is a good Rat cage for the price but it seems a bit flimsy its very easy to put together and take it down its very big .

This cage is huge, really good for it's low price! Quick and easy to slot together. And it was delivered much quicker than estimated as well as packaged very carefully, so thank you very much! The Rats love it :)
