These work if set properly!
These traps are lethal..Here are a few nuggets to help be successful with these traps.#1 boil traps to rid human and foreign scent ! #2 wear latex gloves when handling trap.#3dont leave any room in hole for mole to go around or over.#4place bucket over hole and block all light and air.#5 wait 24 hrs remove dead mole and move to next area. These traps are very effective when used like your trying to trap coyotes.Happy hunting

Hard set up
Have to dig short trench to lay trap in tunnel. Then cover with fine dirt. To much tedious set up. To much work and can't see it after its set. Have to dig it up to see if you have anything. Plus leaves a pid in your yard.

Very effective, but be careful with your fingers
I've tried several other styles of traps and this has been the most effective for me. They are a little hard to set (heavy spring) and I worry about my fingers. These aren't for somebody with delicate hands. But with a little experience they become easier to load. When they catch a mole, and so far all the moles have been killed by the trap, you can usually see that the trap has gone off as the metal arm will protrude slightly from the ground. I mark each trap that I set with a small flag, not that you have to. I recommend these if you're good with your hands.

These are the BEST mole trap!!!
These are the BEST mole traps and I found out about them after I hired a lady to trap moles in my yard. The first mole cost me $40 but I went to school on how she did it and then I bought my own traps! Back then these were only available from England so I was delighted to find them on Amazon! They are easy to use once you know how. I had to watch several videos on-line to see how to set the trap and how to put it into the mole run. I set a trap yesterday at my girlfriend's house and can't wait to go over today to see if I caught that varmint!

Not successful
First, one trap was unable to use as it was not built correctly, missing trip wires to spring the trap see picture. I also found this trap harder to set then cinch traps and moles seem to redirect away from these traps once they're placed in tunnel runs.

These do NOT work
These should have a review score of zero stars! The lowest score amazon would let me give is 2 stars. Not only are they extremely difficult to set, they just don't work. With 3 of the 4 traps I set, there has been dirt all around the trap pushed up after they were set, but didn't trap one single mole. I dug up the spot intended for each trap (used gloves for everything) and made sure to locate an active, through tunnel. Super frustrating, total waste of money and time. I wish I could return these!

It works, if you study your enemy
Over 6+ months we tried 3 other types of traps and 3 types of deterrents before this trap. Our nemesis (gopher) ignored all we tried, even with careful deployment. After watching a couple of university extension videos and an older gentleman from the UK on how to set up this style of trap, we bought them. Within 24 hours we caught the first gopher, none have returned (yet). Setup: you must find the main runway and set these traps in the runway (not on top!). We dug out an area ~10" long x 2.5-3" wide and about 10” deep to set the trap in the runway. Wear gloves to avoid scenting the trap and bend the ‘loop’ to fit the runway. After setting the trap, cover the hole with sod to avoid noise and light intrusion. These traps look 'cheap' and inexpensive, but when set up properly they work great for our situation.

Don’t waste your time on these!!
I consider myself to be at least of average intelligence. The instructions provided with these objects are unintelligible, printed in black-and-grey pictures about the size of a postage stamp. The most gifted and talented person in the world would not be able to comprehend the instructions as written, or try to follow the photos! Finally, after a half an hour of examining and working with the mechanism, I discovered how to set the trap. After I had it set, I took it outside and placed it near the traffic areas of the rodents I was trying to capture. I could not place the object on the ground without it going off!!! What the hell good is a mouse trap you can’t set? Don’t buy these!
